“IF GOING TO DC THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2011

I have been traveling to DC for the past 6 years, I have stayed in this hotel when it was a Ramada and now a Days Inn. That is not what makes it great. It's the staff that makes it a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and they keep the hotel safe. Good breakfast in the morning. The hotel is right across from Andrews AFB, 15 minutes to DC and easy access to the freeway for heading north makes it convenient for access for all your needs.
If your looking for a great place to stay for a good price this is the place. You won't be disappointed.

“Scary neighborhood, Left early for a different hotel.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

We stayed here in August. We were booked for 3 nights and made our reservations online. Don't be fooled by the pictures or any of these other reviews. When we first pulled in we were apalled at the neighborhood. We parked our car directly in front of the window because we were afraid we were going to get our rims stolen or someone was going to try and break into our car. Not to mention I didn't feel safe leaving my luggage in the room particularly because the piece on the door frame for the door to latch into had been ripped off and had been neglected to be fixed. The lobby area is beyond a dump. They had broken furniture and things that had been taken out of other rooms that were faulty. Not to mention when we checked in the young lady was on her cell phone the entire time only hanging up for a brief 2 minutes so she could figure out what we wanted. She then proceeded to answer her phone while in the middle of our check-in, slide us our room key and didn't say another word. If you're looking for a place to eat or some things to do in the area don't bother going to the front desk, they just told us they didn't know. Not even an attempt to help, just a simple your out of luck cause I'm busy talking on my cell-phone and am unwilling to assist you. The pool is crap, the paint is peeling off the bottom, it didn't appear to be cleaned ever and we didn't want to go into it without our sandals on. Our room was decent, the bedding appeared to be cleaned but had some cigarette burns through it. The remote didn't work, perhaps because the batteries were taped into the back of it. The bathroom was clean for the most part but the showerhead was a bit rusty. The blow dryer nearly blew up in my face and almost caught fire. The air conditioner was amazing. The fridge was very conveinent and all of our lights worked which was a plus but not nearly enough to make up for the rude service or lack-there-of, the sketchy neighborhood and the disgusting pool. Regardless we were booked for 3 nights and only stayed for one. We moved to Columbia, Maryland and stayed at a DoubleTree well worth the money and the extra 20 minute drive to Washington. The Days Inn is no place for families, small children, or anyone whose looking to relax during vacation.

“Great room”

This may well be in a bad neighborhood-- we were just kind of passing thru and needed a place to crash,,,,,But the room was great --we checked in at 2 am and no we didn't hit the ice machine due to the late hour and questionable area. ( had cold cokes in car!) anyway the room was great ..very relaxing, nice furniture, nice mattress..clean - great shower...slept great..only complaint..no ashtray for our smoking room. This hotel changed my opinion of Days Inn...but I stayed at another and it changed my opinion back....so my advice for Days Inn is to see the room first, because there are alot of Days dumps.

“Think twice before staying here!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 March 2009

We arrived at this hotel and realized it was in a bad neighborhood immediately. Upon entering the "lobby" we were greeted by a very stale odor and the clerk was behind bullet proof glass. Before giving any information , I requested to check the room that was available. When I opened the door ( I must say with some difficulty due to a weatherstripping on the door) I was greeted by the worse case of stale cigarette smell. I knew there was no way I could spend any time in this room - let alone a night. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

“Good enough for me!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2008

My son's baseball team was supposed to stay in Days Inn Waldorf.... ewww. We made a quick departure to this hotel. At this hotel, we had a clean room, we had a refrigerator and a microwave (which was great since we were down there for 8 days), and they had a pool. Strangely, this is the first hotel I've been to that had a lifeguard and hours of operation (most places I've been have been swim at your own risk) and we actually would have liked the pool open later than 8 p.m. It was unnerving to see the clerks behind bullet proof glass and it was unnerving to hear sirens roaring up and down Allentown Rd all hours of the night, but I never felt threatened or scared for our safety there. We were a large group of people with a LL baseball team and we liked to gather at night. Perhaps we scared some people away since we were out of our rooms at night playing board games, dice games, ladder ball and bag toss games ~ we were bonding as a team and as the families of the team and it was all harmless. BTW, they ended up being STATE CHAMPS! WAHOO!

Most of the people that worked there weren't native born Americans and had strong accents and some of the staff clearly didn't speak English, but we managed to get through the week with our needs met and they gave us a decent price on our rooms.

Also, this hotel was a really close drive to Metro which could be seen as a real benefit if you are doing stuff in DC.

  • Liked — Our room didn't give me the willies -- it was clean and at a reasonable price
  • Disliked — Sort of scary part of town (lots of sirens roaring up and down main drag)
