“Don't judge a book by its cover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2010

I had an overnite here and chose this hotel because of price and other tripadvisor reviews. I needed to be closer to DC but with the Colbert/Stewart Rally on Oct 30 rooms were at a premium. The outside of this place looks pretty sketchy, but inside was neat and tidy. Front desk staff were courteous and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I had a room on the highway side and you could definitely tell in the morning, but I had to get up anyway, so it was no big deal. If you need a super quiet room, try to get one facing the street, not the highway. They have free internet, fridge, microwave, free breakfast. Breakfast was wafffles, cereal, fruit, juices, bacon and eggs (dried eggs perhaps?) Basically the standard continental breakfast fare at the economy chain hotels. Metro station is a mile away, but you can drive and park. Beats driving in to the city. It is a little far to drive in to the City, more because of traffic than distance. I would personally take the metro. Bottom line is that it was clean and comfortable. I would stay again for 1-3 nites.

“good bargain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2010

coming from new york and having stayed at an awful howard johnson hotel, this was pure bliss. the rooms clean, breakfast sufficient, staff very helpful and friendly. bed was king size and bathromm was also clean. parking in front of the hotel was free. we did not hear any noice from the airbase across the road. rooms in the backpart of the hotel however, seemed to be somewhat noisy.

“Its close to Andrews AFB, that is the only reason to stay here”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

You get what you pay for. This is what happened to me. I checked in after midnight and got a room with a gapping hole where the AC was supposed to be, the light switches didn't work and there was a Magnum Condom wrapper floating in the toliet. That's right... Magnum!
Went back to the front desk and had them move me to a room with AC. The switch went fine and that room was way better (and didn't feel ... dirty).
Stayed there because I had a meeting at Andrews AFB and I wanted to make sure I didn't get lost or hit traffic on my way in. Next time I will stay a little further away so that I don't get .... well, you know.

We booked two rooms at this hotel for a last minute trip we decided to take to Washington, DC. The front desk staff person was very helpful. At first, the room looked great. It appeared clean and reasonable for the price. As we were getting ready for bed, my mom found an insect on her pillow. We cannot say for sure what kind of insect it was, but it was not an ant or a fly....
The AC unit was very loud in our room and turning it off would have made the room too hot. The AC didn't work at all in the other room. The bed was comfortable, although the pillows could have been better. I could not get the "free" wi-fi to work. The next morning, we went for the continental breakfast at 7:30am. There were out of scrambled eggs because the truck had just brought them and they were too frozen too eat. So no eggs. They also ran out of butter for the day. The only cereals that were povided were all coated in sugar. No Cheerios or Corn Flakes, which are healthier. Kids aren't the only ones who eat cereal! We called and spoke with the manager, but he was not interested in what we had to say and gave no compensation whatsoever. Would not recommend!!!

“Icky!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2010

Bad smells in the hallway (mold). No internet and run down/shabby rooms. Did I mention the people hanging around the hallways and front entrance? Not a good experience. Moved to the Comfort Inn on the other side of the AF Base (Virginia Gate). So much nicer!
