We stayed at the Cambridge House for a cycling trip to the Eastern Shore. On the way there we took a cycle trip from St Michael's and then went onward to Cambridge. The Cambridge House is a lovely B&B in the historic section of Cambridge. We were met by our host and given a short tour of the facility. Our room, The Governor's Room was on the ground floor and it was very comfortable and very quiet. Breakfast each morning was served in the dining room - two tables for two and one communal table. Breakfast was really tasty and fresh - a fritatta one morning and pancakes the second - I would have preferred more options like cereal or yoghurt for the fussier eater in our party but I enjoyed to food. The TV did not work in our room which was a bit disappointing as we like to chill and watch TV when we're away. Otherwise, it was wonderfully clean, very quiet and within walking distance of downtown restaurants and bars. Our host was friendly and informative re: cycling options.

The Cambridge House has recently changed hands; the new owners are handling the transition well. It's a comfortable property, well-maintained, with large, well-appointed rooms and baths and pleasant common rooms. Cambridge House is also very conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks off U.S. Rt. 50. It is within easy walking distance of several very good restaurants and a couple of blocks form the municipal marina and Cambridge Yacht Club, making it an indea place for a boater who wants to spend a night in the comfort of a small hotel. it is also convenient to some of the best cycling on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and 12 miles from the Blackwater National Widlife Refuge.

I stayed at the Cambridge House with colleagues this weekend while attending a local conference. The room was huge and clean (and I am a germophobe who travels with Lysol), and was very pleased with the neat and careful housekeeping. Our hosts (Dana and husband) very friendly and outgoing, and breakfast was tasty and more than sufficient with fresh fruit and homemade items (egg fritatta and Belgian waffles). Very pleasant folks who care run this nice establishment.

Did not hear my neighbors, and the bathroom seemed to act as a noise buffer.

(By the way, had the crabcakes at the Clearview Country Club. Fantastic, and outdoor dining enhanced by sunset views of the Choptank River from the restaurant's back deck.)

I met up with my girlfriends at the Cambridge House during the "Taste of Cambridge" weekend. We had a blast. The Innkeepers, Dana and Jody, were fantastic...very welcoming, warm, friendly people. The Inn was very clean with beautiful furnishings and picturesque grounds. We stayed in one of the rooms that had access to the back porch (I highly recommend). The porch offered us a great place to gather, talk, have a glass of wine, and enjoy the sounds/smells of summer.

Not only did The Cambridge House provide a great place to gather and catch up, but it provided easy access to the entire town. We were able to walk to the Taste of Cambridge and to nearby Choptank River. Within a short driving distance we were able to visit the local nature preserve. I highly recommend The Cambridge House as a great place for a quick, fun weekend getaway. Go ahead, book a room. You won't be disappointed.
