I booked the room from the 23rd of Dec to 29th of Dec 2011 while I'm home for Christmas and aside from it being convenient I won't be staying here again. When I got to the room I had been traveling for over 30 hours and was tired...exhausted. I went into the bathroom and there were hairs on the floor and a footprint. I went to the front desk and asked them to please come and clean the bathroom. Took them awhile but they finally came into the room, closed the bathroom door and I'm guessing they called themselves doing something. As exhaustion settled in I crawled into bed and woke up the next morning around 4AM. When I walked into the bathroom again I noticed that now not only is the offending hair there, but there appeared to be more of what looked like pubic hair. I'm completely grossed out and go to the front desk and immediately ask them to disinfect the bathroom.
I laid all the towels on the floor so I could walk on them instead of the floor and got ready for another day. Upon returning to my room last night I went in the bathroom and looked at the floor again and still found hairs on the floor that didn't belong to me. I've given up asking since I'm staying here until the 29th...pre-paid room...so don't have much of a choice at this stage in the game. And have decided to not even ask anymore and just continue laying the towels in the floor to walk on. I have shower shoes that I wear so not really worried about that aspect of things.
Overall the staff seems nice but the housekeeping staff definitely leaves a lot to be desired. I imagine if my hotel room had pubic hairs on the bathroom floor, that mine and the remaining rooms in this hotel can use a good old fashioned disinfecting with bleach and a good general cleaning.
Breakfast is offered in this hotel and consisted of microwave sausage that was way over cooked, powered eggs, HORRIBLE doughnuts that smell like a used oil vat...spend a few more pennies here Comfort Inn and pick up some from a Dunkin Doughnuts or something...or at least come offer something that doesn't smell/taste like the back end of a car, waffles that you make yourself, and the usual cereals, mini-bagles, toast, juices, and coffee. Overall I'd say that I'd rather spend the money and go to McDonalds which is in walking distance behind the CVS/bank.
The bed is an absolutely dream...or maybe it's just because I work in Afghanistan and the sleeping quarters leave a lot to be desired there so anything looks/feels good to me.
General recommendations I'd say if you're passing through for a night it's fine but if you're doing an extended stay like me...go elsewhere. The cleanliness thing is a HUGE issue for me and I'd rate it one step up from a Motel 6!!! For the price...86USD a night you'd think they could ensure that the bathrooms are clean and free of some person's pubic hair. GROSS! DISGUSTING! and just plain NASTY!!!
Room Tip: I stayed on 1st floor, not really much a difference I imagine.
