“a home away from home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

We were there in the offseason, having noticed the Inn during the summer. Its location is absolutely perfect, just steps away from the tiny York Harbor beach and from excellent walking opportunities.
Since we planned to arrive before official check-in time, Kathy called to let us know where the key was in case no one was home. The Inn is a solidly constructed old building, and our room was just as the photos had shown it, with a spectacular view of the ocean. The bathroom was large and offered soap and lotion as well as a note, which I welcomed, about the option of saving water by re-using towels during multi-night stays.
The Inn is informal. Breakfast was one hot dish (baked French toast one day, baked oatmeal the next) as well as bagels, yogurt and granola, with grapes, sliced watermelon and strawberries. Guests can make their own coffee and tea at any time day or night in the common area.

“Not worth $230 a night”

A recent stay at edwards B&B,could of & should of been something to remember in good times. When I arrived the door was locked. I called on the phone & Kurt & kathy answered, but were in town, they informed me my key was in the basket.Never at the B&B before, had to look for the basket.Once in side I started climbing the stairs to the top floor with luggage(Iam a disabled verteran with back & right leg problems, that I explained to Kathy when making my reservations) after finding my room, I went inside & sat on the bed, or what at one time was classified as a bed 25 years ago,& could not beleive how hard it was, pulled the sheets back to see the signs of springs inbedded into the sheet.I went to use the bath room & again thats another story from the towels being well used in rustic brown to the toilet up against the wall and very little room.I slepted 15 mins all night , got up the next morning expecting a breakfast, the cook must of been out,we had bagles & fruit w/cold cereal.I went back to my room, packed, back to the front desk & was charged the $460.00 for 2 nites ,when I only stayed one and left. This B&B is not worth the money, ask to see the place ist,(if the door is unlocked, and Kathy doesnt have an attituded) the Stage Neck next door is well worth the money.

Room Tip: Check out the rooms, old window a/c in wall,13" tv on top of old dresser, all furniture old,not a...

“mixed feelings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011 via mobile

My wife and I spent two nights here recently. First for the good stuff. The inn is beautiful both inside and out. The rooms are well maintained and the common rooms very comfortable. I asked for a dozen roses be in our room at arrival and they were. Unike some places, they didn't rip me off for the charges for the roses. They were very fair. Made some good recommendations and were pleasant to be around. On the downside, we were both disappointed with the breakfasts. It was a small buffet on a small table with all the food crammed on the table. One morning the muffins were burned on the bottom and twice they ran out. It didn't seem as if anyone was really monitoring the buffet. Now I have traveled aand eaten in 3rd world countrie so I'm not a culinary snob. However for the price I expected more. We stayed in 6 different B&B's on this trip and while this was one of the nicest and the inn keepers were kind, the breakfasts were definitely of a lower grade than the other B&B's.

“Very cozy and relaxing.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2011

Great service, nice breakfasts, beautiful water views. Loved falling to sleep and waking up to the sound of waves breaking on the shore. We're already planning our return visit.
