“Beautiful”

This inn is set right against the bay with beautiful scenery. It can be a little tricky to find- you have to drive off a main road, down a little road, then down their long driveway. But the tricky drive leads to this beautiful inn that is secluded amongst nature. So pretty. They also have a bunch of fun stuff to do for free- like badminton, shuffleboard, and other games. The staff is so sweet and helpful, and the rooms are quaint and private. Overall great stay- no complaints!

Room Tip: Call them for directions- internet directions aren't extremely accurate.

“Incredible location, basic accommodation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

All the reviews on this website that describe the beautiful location of this hotel are completely accurate. It is stunning. However, the quality of the lodging itself leaves much to be desired; the walls of the wooden huts are extremely thin; whilst there may be positive reasons for this choice, to have semi-detached accommodation with walls that offer such easy sound-transfer means that sleep is easily disturbed. In separate instances, I was woken by snoring in an adjacent room and, at 9.15AM by a leaf blower 2 feet from our door (and I am a very heavy sleeper!). The latter offering one of several instances of the hotel's operations being determined by staff convenience, with little consideration for the guests. Hot drinks were only available to us by walking to the main house, apparently until 9pm, but when we attempted to enter the building at 8.15pm all the doors were locked to us.
The restaurant may be very nice; it was advertised to us being open "through October", we went in October, it was closed. I understand seasonal opening but communicating opening dates can be done more effectively than it is currently.
I was happy to see sunrise from our room, I enjoyed dusk. One night was enough to experience the Dockside Guest Quarters.

“Great Mornings, Relaxing Evenings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

The staff is very warm and welcoming. The view of the harbor is incredibly "New England-ish" and the morning sunrise is breathtaking.
The morning breakfast is a little more than continental and a little less than a full. Somewhere in between, but the food is very good though.
My daughters and I were playing shuffleboard outside and one of the onwers came over to secretly tell me that she had fresh "whoopie pies" that she just put out if I wanted the girls to have them. I thought this was a touch of great hospitality.
The rooms are a little dated, but you can forget all of that when you are enjoying the crisp air on your private balcony overlooking the water.

Room Tip: Waterfront with a balcony is a must.

“The Dockside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

Excellent location on a quiet cove. Spacious and clean room. Ours had a gas fireplace. We watched the sunrise from our room. Breakfast was continental stlye with some extra hot dishes. Best coffee I have had at an Inn for a long time. Staff was polite and helpful. We look forward to returning.

“Beautiful area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

We were traveling the New England coastline as part of a fall vacation, and made York one of our stops as we made our way from Maine to Connecticut. Dockside is a nice place to stay, situated at the back of a marina on a beautiful cove. It's an amazing place to watch the tide come in and watch the boats as they navigate through the channel surrounded by the rocky shoreline.

The building itself is inviting, warm, and conveniently located next to a restaurant. The "Nubble" lighthouse is close-by, and the beaches, even in the fall, are a must see while in the area!

We found Dockside to be convenient to all the local attractions and enjoyed learning about the history of York and the surrounding area. There's even a great nature trail and wiggly bridge nearby. We found it to be a great place to explore the woods and relax in the old growth forest within walking distance of the Inn.

Room Tip: We found our room to be very quiet and quite comfortable. We were on the top floor, but without a d...
