“Fantastic.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We loved, loved, loved the Holiday Guest House. Bill and Michael are so friendly and so fantastic. We had to coordinate a late arrival, and they were highly accommodating. The guest house is beautifully appointed, spotless, and so comfortable.

I was traveling with my mother and another friend, taking them through New England for fall foliage. Since we were doing a road trip through the area, we stayed in each place only one night, and it was very difficult to find a B&B that accommodated three people for only one night on a weekend. We were delighted to find the Holiday Guest House so flexible, as compared to other inns in the area. But it didn't matter - I don't think we would stay anywhere else upon our return. We stayed in the Mariner Room, and it fit the three of us very nicely. Don't let the separate bath discourage you - it's very private and literally is steps outside of your door.

Breakfast is amazing - there are no words to do it justice. The eggs benedict were astouding, not to mention the warm coffee cakes and other pastries. It's worth the visit and the return.

“Worth making an excuse just to go!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

I have been a guest at the house twice now; both in 2010 and 2011 and can I say uberfantastic! Michael and Bill and oh yeah Snickers, are some of the the most friendly, knowledgable and well-seasoned owners/hosts I have ever stayed with. Both times I have visited, I have been traveling with my fiancé and parents so thats four people to please and each time our expectations are exceeded. The location is very convenient. You have Portland to the north and Boston to the south. The house has a little bookcase with all sorts of visitor information and Michael and Bill are more the helpful with their recommendations and cautions. These guys know how to make you feel welcome but aren't peeking over your shoulder everywhere in the house. They provide just the right amount of interaction while still respecting your privacy. The house is spotless and decorated perfectly. They change the decor periodically which makes each time you visit different. The breakfasts are homemade and include so much. Fresh fruit, fresh baked breads, juice, coffee and thats all BEFORE the entree; with cookies in the evening. You can eat in the sunroom at your own private tables if you wish and the landscaping and the wildlife make the meal. No joking, chipmunks and cardinals were running around just outside of the sunroom during breakfast. You definitely get more than your moneys worth at this B&B. Although this year we were visiting a different part of New England, I seriously made up an excuse just to stop over for one night! Just beware though, you will be spoiled by this B&B and it might skew you opinions on any places you stay after. Don, Robyn, Doug and Marina CA

My husban and I came up for the weekend to attend the Christmas Prelud...we enjoyed the Holiday Guest House so much we didn't want to leave. The owners are wonderful - they make you feel like family. The Holiday Guest House is very clean and well maintained. I can't even begin to tell you how AMAZING the breakfast is! You won't be disappointed staying here...we can't can't wait to go back!

“Great hosts, wonderful accomodations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

Our first visit to beautiful Wells, Maine in mid-September and there were many places to stay. We think back to our trip and cannot imagine staying anywhere other than Holiday Guest House. The hosts are the absolute best--we drove past the house upon arrival--we called, was told to turn around and soon found Bill near the street waving us in! Michael and Snickers greeted us inside. You should not pass the cookie dish without taking at least three cookies and breakfast was beyond delicious every morning. The house and grounds are well-kept, comfortable, and with history that Bill and Michael are very happy to share. The hosts and the house make for something much more than a place to stay. Holiday Guest House is a wonderful place and look forward to the next visit.

“It's all in the details...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

My husband took me to the Holiday Guest House for my birthday this past weekend. The Inn was warm and charming and the owners take such exceptional care of the place! You really feel as though you are staying with family. Spotless accommodations and attention to detail is why I will go back! (Don't get me started on the delicious french toast!)
