“Quiet Easy Access Getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

What can I say other then I've been going to Village By The Sea for over 20 years and I have always had a great experience. I used to live in CT and now I live in MA. which makes it easier to get to. Along the way you can visit the NH shoreline or the State Liquor store. In wells theres so many shops along route one and who can ever forget to got the Outlet Trading Posts in Kittery. There's plenty of places to stop and eat, Weathervane is my personal favorite, and plenty of other's like Bob's Clam Hut or Billy's. Shopping, eating, shoreline, antiques and great friendly people, yup........Maine is the place to go to relax and do a little ME time, lol.

“Slice of heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We've been visiting this area for years, and have been staying at this hotel for the last four. We live in Boston, so Southern Maine is our quick get-away / happy place.

Some of the condos are more of a miss than a hit. Each unit is individually owned and each owner decorates the unit to their own taste. We have young children so we need a unit that is free of knick knacks and breakables. You can see pictures of each unit on line, and the reservations folks are also very helpful. There are two configurations of units - balcony off the living room or balcony off the master bedroom. I prefer the balcony off the living room - much brighter and the view of the marsh when having my morning coffee is such a wonderful start to my day.

Why do we like it so much?? The value for money is unbeatable. There is so much space in the units, and they are comfortable. In the winter, the indoor pool is so much fun, and the outdoor pool in the summer is also great. The gym, while small, is well maintained and the equipment always works. Can't beat having a full kitchen in the unit and a washer / dryer too.

Tons to do in the area. It is our slice of heaven.

“Home away from home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

We just returned to Village By The Sea for a New Year get away. We had spent 2 nights there in late September and loved it so we booked for the holiday before we left the property! The suite we stayed in was immaculate and charming. Decorated with a beach theme, comfortable beds, and a big dining room table for guests was perfect for what we wanted. The game room and indoor pool and hot tub left us not needing to ever leave the property on New Year's Eve.
The grounds are well maintained and the staff very friendly. We have been there now in the fall and winter, and are planning a summer getaway right back to Village By The Sea.

Room Tip: We stayed in building 12 unit A and are told it is one of their best rooms. Friends stayed in the n...

“Maine's best hidden treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

We found this great place on the internet a couple years ago. We travel most winters with family/friends. The surprise we had upon arriving. Great check in staff. Always so nice and quick to get us checked in & out.
When we opened the door to our unit a large living room with dinning room , a kitchen fully set up, master bedroom with bathroom and a second bedroom. All tastefully decorated. We decided to investigate the property, indoor pool. hot tub, exercise room, game room & outside in ground pool. The unit had a huge flat tv in the living room, my husband was "HAPPY", all the comforts of home........... Venture out on Route 1 you will find something for everyone. Antique shops, Micro Mall, miniature golf, playhouse, fine shops, thrift shops, and then the restaurants.......Fine dinning, fast food, dinners and food trucks. We have never been disappointed..... Walks on the beach. sleigh ride, carriage ride & trolley rides. We always find something to do...

“No better place to stay in Wells IMO!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

We always stay at village by the sea. Huge condo type units with equipped kitchen and tons of room. Why pay the same price to be holed up in a closet sized unit. Also open year round and makes the best place to stay in the Winter months as you don't go stir crazy on those cold nights. There is so much room and comforts, you sometimes just want to hang out and enjoy the deck, view and fresh air. Maine is year round enjoyment and no matter the month, we stay at Village by the Sea. If you can be pleased in life, Village by the Sea is great!
----->>>Washer and Dryer too so you can pack light!

Room Tip: A B rooms first floor, C D rooms second floor, E F third floor. @nd floor best deal, great view, low...
