“Staff wonderful”

Recently attended a conference at this property. Check-in was a breeze. The housekeeping staff was excellent, especially Charrise. My room was located on the 6th fl a couple of doors away from concierge lounge, where the breakfast and evening appetizers were plentiful. The rooms are spacious, with full room width windows for a view of the Maine Mall.
The bed very comfortable and plenty of desk space for work, free Wi-Fi as well as a coffee bar and a flat screen TV.
This property has a restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You'll want a car as shopping, other restaurants and site seeing are within site but not walking distance. The Maine Mall, Macy's- JCPenny-Sears-Christmas Tree Shop-Target along with several others are about a mile or less away, but beware there are no sidewalks.
For those looking for a pool there is a med size indoor and a great gym.
A great value, especially if you check the internet specials

Room Tip: Request a room facing away from the back....View is offices and the roof of the conference center as...

“Exceptional Breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012 via mobile

Although the room furniture is tired, the lobster omelette is worth the stay! Veronica at the front desk is the best hotel employee staff member that I've ever come across in my world travels.

“Great stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

I stayed here for a night between Christmas and New Year's with my wife. We were promptly greeted at the front desk, and check-in was completed quickly. We were very happy with our room, and found it to be clean, spacious, and nicely decorated. It was a perfect place to order in pizza and crash for the night, and the beds were very comfortable. It is conveniently located to nearby shops and restaurants, and is only a very short drive to Portland. We stayed in one of the rooms at the end of the hotel, so it was quite a walk! Our room was all by itself at the end of this corridor, and then there was this other corridor once you got inside the room before it opened up. Very strange, but kinda cool. I felt as if I was in one of those secret agent movies where they seem to walk forever down corridors and have to go through a series of doors. Anywhere else in the hotel, its not far of a walk at all.

“Well done every time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Let me start by saying that this hotel is not a resort and it is not ultra luxe. But we love it, and it has never let us down. The property sits on a hill and is affiliated with the adjoining golf course. It is tucked into the landscape so that it is barely noticeable until you pull into the driveway.
The rooms, halls, lobby, bar and restaurant were all remodeled within the last several years. The lobby adjoins the bar area and has ample seating for socializing or business meetings. It is warmed by a fireplace in the cooler months, and is tastefully decorated. A small library with 4 computers is off to the side.
The rooms are all up to date, decent sized and fresh. Rooms have a good size (40"?) flat screen TV. There is ample work space. Decor is appropriate to the local area.
The concierge lounge is on the 6th floor. Breakfasts and evening appetizers are excellent. The concierge staff is welcoming and knowledgeable.
The restaurant is very good, serving a large breakfast buffett, and a full lunch and dinner menu featuring local seafood as well as the usual Marriott offerings.
The best part of this hotel, and we stay there on average 25 nights a year, is the friendly staff. Everyone, from the front desk to the bartender to the housekeeping folks are warm and genuinely friendly. If your travel plans take you to the Portland, Maine area, this is the place to stay. Enjoy!

Room Tip: There are two luxury suites, rooms 523 and 423. There are at least 4 executive suites, 517, 521, 61...

“Couple Things”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

Price was excellent for room. Christmas 2011 never been to Maine. Front desk was excellent and gave us a larger room to accomodate 4 ppl. 2 dbls on a corner, they suggested and let us sample each room before choosing. Good sized room.
I noticed an open packet of coffee on the coffee table, and, dirty underneath the beds: I.E. small bottles of opened lotion, lint, and dust underneath. Also, there was a dead bug on the ceiling, and, another on the chair's arm rest. There was no security in the hotel @ 3am when I went to play santa and get gifts out of the vehicle, and, no one at the desk to monitor any activities in and out of the hotel...Lock your room doors securely if you stay @ this hotel.
Staff was very accomodating, and even comped our bkfst for the dead bugs and open container of cofee. Breakfast wasnt that tasty...Glad we didnt pay bc I think it was upwards of $15 ea. Overall good stay

Room Tip: Corner rooms are larger w/2 dbl beds
