We stayed at the Belmont for several days on the way into Western Maine. The place is consistently terrific. We've used this lovely locally-owned motel as a jumping off place for camping in western Maine for several years. I read a couple of reviews and noticed a few of the lower ratings and am frankly amazed. There IS no Ritz Carlton in Western Maine, folks! And not everyone is looking for that anyway. The Belmont is consistent for being clean, comfortable, safe, convenient to the area, and friendly. It's a throw-back to all the good things you remember about "family-style" motels from when you were a kid (if you're over 40 :-) When you factor in the cost it's unbeatable.

We stayed here while attending the Downeast horse show. The motel is located across the street from the fair grounds. Room includes a very comfortable bed,small fridge, cable tv and internet access. The decor is a bit dated, but looks fresh/clean. Coffee and breakfast snacks are available at the motel office.

Stayed here for one night on business. The guys I was visiting were concerned for me ("Have you seen the place?" they asked) and were staying at a Holiday Inn a town or two away. I prefer to give the local guy the business. I thought the Belmont was perfectly representative of a New England Motel - clean, simple, comfortable. A real key for the room, but dead bolt and chain for security. Small refrigerator, hair dryer, TV in room. Pets allowed...but they are very specific about which rooms can have pets and where pets can be walked. Don't come here expecting the Ritz Carlton, but if you ar looking for a nice, simple motel at a good rate - this is your place.

Needed a place to stay for a night while driving through Maine, ended up at The Belmont Motel. Great little place, close to everything you need... Walmart, gas stations, Mc Donald's, etc. The room was very affordable and absolutely, without a doubt the cleanest place I've ever stayed away from home! Appeared to be recently remodeled/updated. Cozy, quiet, great place for a good nights sleep!
