Planned to stay in next town south, but a weekend event there had most rooms full, and for much more $$. We were so happy we found the Yardarm. Great value, quiet, and friendly people. Lovely breakfast. We'll be back.

Yardarm motel was better than expected.Clean rooms, (unit #1) reasonable price,complimentary continental breakfast. My only complaint...clean the inside of the bathroom door or better yet...paint it.

Stopped there for 1 night:
The wonderful:
-The Innkeepers (I am guess they were the owners)! There was a chance we were going to arrive very late at night and not only did they not have a problem with that, they went out of their way to make it as easy as possible for us. They also were very very friendly ever time we interacted with them.
-Breakfast: They made sure to keep everything stocked, coming in and refilling items multiple times while we sat there...tasty muffins, cereals, english muffins, teas, coffee, etc.
-The feel: very safe, clean and quaint feel to the inn.
The okay:
-Decor looks older (very old TV) but clean and in good condition...and fits with the style of motel (some people might think it adds to the charm of the hotel, other probably don't care, & so forth. Figured I would mention so can decided for yourself what you prefer)
-Shower: didnt drain very well for 1 shower (didn't drain well for the 1st person who showered but must have worked itself out cause by the second shower worked fine) and water was a little cold for half of the shower (but it was in the morning when multiple people in the motel where probably showering so not really their fault)
Price- Ran a little higher than other place we stayed at in the area.
The not so good:
-There were to nasty looking but smaller bugs in the bathroom... but really this is not the motels fault since bugs can be anywhere...and it was very clean.
Overall:
Based on our 1 night, I would not hesitate to stay there again & would recommend it to others if they are in the area and need a nice, clean, and quite place to stay.

This is my third time returning to the Yardarm Motel in Searsport, Maine. The last time
I stayed was during the Lobster Festival in nearby Rockland. A great drive along Maine
backroads and along U.S. Route 1. What a treat! Yummy lobster by day then crisp
sheets by night at the Yardarm. Not to mention the great, sunny breakfast room in the
morning that serves a great continental breakfast.
The prices at the Yardarm are more than reasonable and the owners are a real hoot.
Everytime I return to Maine (from California), I make sure I revisit the Yardarm. I can
take the bus from Portland to a little station right across the street from the Yardarm
in Searsport. How fantastic is that! If you are in the area, you must stay one night.
