My husband and I stay in this area every summer to attend the Bucksport Bay Festival, normally we stay in Bucksport but decided to try a more personal visit by staying in a B&B just outside of town instead.
The outside of the Inn is absolutely beautiful. The color scheme is warm and inviting and the gardens are gorgeous. It is set back off the main road enough that road traffic was not an issue, with plenty of private parking.
The inside of the Inn is average with a lot of antiques in every room. There is a tv in one of the parlor rooms if you need a fix, otherwise there are a lot of quiet places to just sit and relax. My husband and I especially liked sitting outside on the front porch that overlooks a small part of the bay.
We stayed in the Waldo Pierce Room. Our room was large with a private bath that had a clawfoot tub. Decor was somewhat mismatched with old and new (antique furniture, newer carpet, old tub, new toilet and sink). We did have an issue with the bed being uncomfortable, it was very hard and sagged in the middle and the pillows were very flat and hard as well. We did not get a good night sleep our first night. The next morning we did mention this to the innkeeper and she was very helpful in rectifying the situation for us. The next night's sleep was much better after she flipped the mattress and added an egg crate.
Breakfast the first day was fine. We had french toast, sausage and fresh fruit with coffee, tea and juice. Due to illness we had to leave early and missed our second breakfast of our stay.
The innkeeper was very helpful with tips and ideas of where to eat in the area and was very accomodating. Overall the Inn is nice and clean, convenient to Belfast or Bucksport, and cozy.
