“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2008

I found this Inn on Travel Advisor.com. It is fantastic. My husband and I are new to the B&B idea of traveling. Deb and Kathy were just the nicest hostess. They were fun and very helpful to all the guest. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We stayed in the blue room. It is a wonderful place for a quiet weekend getaway or a stopover. If we can get out of Texas again that far North we are going to make that a definite stopover for us.
Deb, thanks for the great breakfast lots more than a danish and coffee like some hotels.

“A Very Comfortable B and B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2008

This was one of the most comfortable B and B's we've ever stayed in...from the room itself to the hospitality of the hosts. The room had a small compact refrigerator with bottled water for us, a small coffee maker and coffee (although the excellent morning coffee was available at 7:30 downstairs - an hour before breakfast), wine glasses and an opener were there also, and the bed was great - an important consideration for two folks with back problems. The only difficulty for us, age 67 and 70, were the steep steps to the 2nd floor room when we were carrying luggage, but the steps wouldn't be a problem for folks with better knees than us. I believe there were 2 other rooms with an easier access.

Not only was the morning coffee excellent, but so were the breakfasts- always a hot entree, all of which were fantastic.

The two women who own and run the B and B couldn't have been nicer - from suggestions for dinner to sightseeing in the area. They are responsible for the beautiful flowers surrounding the inn, and the very pleasant room decor and cleanliness. They were fun to talk with and couldn't have been more hospitable.

This was our first stay at the Wildflower, but while there we met two couples who were return visitors - more than once!..a great testimonial to the friendliness and hospitality of the hosts. I'm sure we'll be one of those couples who returns too.

“A great stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2008

Beautiful property, wonderful, witty hosts, lovely rooms & a great breakfast. Who can ask for more? A block from the ocean in a charming remodeled historic property. You won't regret your stay here in this delightful inn.

“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2008

We stayed 2 nights at the Wildflower and had a very good experience. While our room was small - which we knew - it was very welcoming. The chocolate was a great touch! Cathy and Deb were very helpful with restaurant recommendations that were right on target, the breakfasts were delicious and we really appreciated the coffee ready early so we could sit out on the porch and read with a cup of coffee while waiting for breakfast. Highly recommended!

“Loved the WIldflower Inn!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2008

I originally booked a room at the Wildflower Inn as a stop over on the way to Bar Harbor. After staying there for the night my husband and I wished we had made the Wildflower our destination instead of the stopover. Searsport is a cute little Maine town and Cathy and Deb are fabulous! They are welcoming, friendly, had some great suggestions for dinner and make a great breakfast. We booked the smallest room and while it was small it was very charming and cozy. And I don't think I have ever stayed anywhere as clean. Having grown up in a 100+ year old home I know how difficult it is too keep walls, woodwork, etc. looking clean and fresh. It looks like Cathy and Deb paint every year. Also, the gardens are beautiful.

Cathy and Deb suggested Pappa J's for dinner. We loved it! It's a funky little restaurant with a lot of wines by the glass and great beer on tap. The inside looks nothing like the outside so don't be deceived when you drive by.

Searsport is in a central location and it's easy to do day trips to Bar Harbor and Camden from there. We had breakfast with two other couples who did just that. They stayed at the Wildflower and then made day trips to the surrounding towns. And because the Wildflower is not in Bar Harbor the rates are better. The next night when we moved on to our bed and breakfast in Bar Harbor we were disappointed. It was more $ per night, it was not anywhere near as nice as the Wildflower, the breakfast was not as good and it just wasn't kept up as nicely.

I highly recomment the Wildflower Inn. My husband and I plan to return next year.
