Stayed here for 3 nights in late Sept, early Oct 2011. Booked the room thru PL. I've stayed here 4 years ago and it was a clean, no frills hotel with a mini kitchen. I guess they just opened back then. Anyway, this time we booked 2 rooms and we were given standard PL rooms: next to the elevator. That didn't bother us that much but what did bother us was the smell of both rooms when you first walk in. We had to open up the windows and turn on the AC (in late Sept) to get rid of the smell. I later traced the smell in one room to burnt crust inside the microwave which looked like it haven't been cleaned in 4 years. The dirty carpet looks like it's way overdue for some cleaning too.
Then we saw a letter on the counter of the kitchen saying Orkin (Pest Control) will be in the premise with a canine to inspect the hotel. I usually inspect the beds for bed bugs when I travel but after seeing this letter, I was inspecting the rooms like Sherlock Holmes. This caused 3 nights of worrying whether or not we will wake up with bites all over. During my inspection of the beds, I found small traces of blood stains on the sheets.
One of the rooms had bad plumbing, water in the tub took 30 mins to drain. The shower fixture trickled water out like a camp site shower. Although we didn't get bitten during our stay, we all agreed we would have paid double to stay somewhere else. This place really went down hill since the last time we stayed here 4 years ago. It's all the way down to the pits. I'm usually easy to please and don't complaint much or write bad reviews but this place was horrific.
Pros: Cheap, free parking
Cons: Dirty/smelly rooms, possible pests control issues, blood stained sheets, bad plumbing
