“A long Winter Weekend in Rangeley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We just came back from a long weekend (Friday-Monday) at Rangeley Lake Resort. Just one of the most relaxing getaways that we have ever experienced! We were there to celebrate the old mans birthday, so we had quite a crew for cook-out on Saturday. The porch of the cottage was perfect for this activity even in Maine in the Winter. We were really impressed with the stock of cooking utensils and dishes in the Kitchen. Clean! This place was white glove clean! The linens were all first class and the cottage was warm and cozy. We had the time to enjoy the pool, hot tub and sauna's. One morning I awoke early, took my coffee out on the porch and there were deer crossing the camp road! We walked down to the lake front and out on the ice one day. We had a very nice lunch at Sarges in Rangeley. We just can't wait to go back again!

“One of our Best Trips”

My husband has summered in Maine for over 60 years in the Boothbay Region of Maine, where the family gathers in the summer, and we make a trip each year from Charlotte, NC. This year we decided to discover a part of Maine that we've never been. We traded our Marriott at Hilton Head for a week at the Rangley Lake Resort Sept 24 - Oct. 2. We left the cottage on the ocean and fog, and headed northwest 120 miles to Rangeley. It was manificent. Imagine mountains covered in the most amazing colors reflected in lakes too numerous to mention. The cottage we were given was a very small duplex; however, when I explaied that we had traded a 3 bedroom and had friends joining us, the staff at Rangley Lake Resort, moved us the next day as promised to a spacious 3 bedroom at no extra cost. We were connected to internet. The bedrooms were spacious and bathrooms just fine. Log cabins are scattered about the property and it is less than a half mile walk to Rangeley Lake. Monday night's bonfire at the Lake is a must to visit with people from all over and have s'mores. We took many scenic drives; toured the Lake arranged by the resort. An IGA is next to the resort for anything you want. Rangley and its neighboring town Oussic are very small, but there are some good restaurants at reasonable prices, but we chose to eat in most meals. Our friends canoes each day. My husand is embarrassed that it took him 60 years to find the perfect spot in Maine.

Room Tip: The cottage we were given was a very small duplex; however, when I explained that we had traded a 3...

“Nice and Laid Back Privacy”

Log cabin was clean and tastefully decorated with a Maine, woodsy, LL Bean flavor. Internet connection would have been nice but plenty of other things to do. Huge covered porch with picnic table and adirondack chairs for relaxing and entertaining. Hibatchi grill out front. Nice swimming spot with huge dock and built in benches but no beach. Campfire area and benches down by the water. Would love to go back.

“Best "New England" ski accomodations ever”

Rangeley is an amazing resort we have been to many times. From beautiful 3 bedroom log cabins to 2 bedroom lockoffs... it is all beautiful. Saddleback is still small enough that we do not wait in lines, (unless it is Maine vacation week) and the mountain is challenging enough for all to ski. The ski lodge is new and fabulous! Great service too!
The lodge at the resort is fun, game and movies to lend. Indoor pool and pool table. The kids enjoy this so much and for us, it is our time to completely reconnect with family and take a week long breather from reality. Dont forget to go sledding at the gold course! And eat at the Hunrgy Trout (name has changed, but is at closest motel from the resort0 and Sarges for a great pub food experience, kid friendly!

“Colder than expected”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2008

Early October was colder than we expected, but the foliage was great. I would bring, next time, a warm jacket, sweater, gloves and hat. Cabin was cozy and clean. And kitchen was compete enought to cook meals. Many great scenic drives within the area. My only complaint was the trundle bed, perhaps it would be ok for a small child. I would suggest you not stay in a two bedroom if more than three adults because of the trundles in the second bedroom, unless you can sleep comfortably on a three inch mattress with a metal pole under it. We also spent four days in Bar Harbor and enjoyed the entire state and its beauty
