“Dreadful and overpriced - unbelievable that it is still in business”

I stayed here because it was the only room I could find on short notice before an unexpected trip to Portland. I'm not a very picky person, and have lived/traveled all over the world, but this was a uniquely bad experience. On the positive side, the receptionist at the front desk was very pleasant and prompt, and the water pressure in the shower was OK. Unfortunately, the rest of the hotel is extremely sketchy - the rooms are in a side building overlooking a dank parking lot, the entrances do not seem secure at all, the stairwells and corridors are like something out of a bad horror movie, and my room - while large - was dirty and musty, with only one working electrical outlet. It's hard to imagine what the owners/managers are thinking - I can't believe I paid the same rate here as I had for a room in a lovely B&B down the coast on the previous night. I would highly recommend taking any other option (car camping, paying more elsewhere, or going further out of town) rather than staying here.

“never ever again.... smelly room!”

The motel is cheap, but one should not stay there. The room we had smelled so bad, that it was hard to stand. As it was a late arrival, we did not want to complain and search for another place.
In addition: everyone can enter the building on the side entries, which does not make one feel safe. The aircondition was way too loud to be kept on.
Wireless was not working during our stay.

“No where near being worth $140 a night !!!”

We got into town a little after dark , Saturday night and every other motel was full . As others have said , it is a very odd set up . The lobby is close to the street and the rooms are in a separate building , hiding behind what looked to be a vacant restaurant . Where we parked , there were only 3 other vehicles . I didn't feel completely comfortable with that , but the area looked alright . Absolutely no complaints about our room . It was spacious and clean . However what I didn't like was that the guy at the front desk said he was off at 11 and there would be no one on duty until the next morning ! What if there were problems with the room or there was a noisy party in one of the other 5 rooms that were occupied ?!?! Wifi was weak at first , but fine after we came back from a snack and asking at the desk .

“A Horror Show that my children will probably never forget”

We had a day at Funtown in Saco and decided to spend the night in the Portland area so that we could go to the beach the following day. Every room in Portland was booked, but we thought we lucked out when we found vacancies here. I think we would have been safer, felt better about our surroundings and slept more soundly if we had slept in an alley. This is far and away the most disgusting hotel room I have ever seen (and I've stayed in some serious dumps including a disaster in Pocatello Idaho, which until last night took the top prize for grossest room ever. The room stank like a combination of corpse, cigarette smoke, mildew, prostitute, beer and STD. I expected to find our car stripped and on cinder blocks in the morning, but it was not. Discovering that our car was still there was the most pleasant part of our stay. If you find yourself stuck in Portland and need a room desperately, I strongly encourage you to look for space in a dumpster, loading dock overhang or highway overpass before you book a room here.

Absolute filth. Hookers and drug dealers in the stair wells. Dirty, smelly, simply awful.
