“Nice nice nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

With my boyfriend we booked a room for only one night given that we were planning on staying somewhere else for the rest of the week. Well, we got back.
The two owners are incredibly nice and attentive, AND, as we definitely appreciated, very cultivated and pleasant people; they respected our privacy and were also of great help in pointing us to excellent restaurants and places to visit.
Breakfast is a plus given that it is a different cooked meal every morning. The rooms (we tried two) were impeccable, and the BB is in a great location; everything you might want to visit is at walking distance, AND, if you wish to explore more, there is free parking space.

Maine was a nice break from NYC life, and they definitely contributed to it. Well done!

“Lovely experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I recently stayed at the Inn for only one night. However, it was fabulous. The room I stayed in was the yellow room with blue trimmings. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept on in years. Clean and cozy. John and Nancy, the proprietors were very helpful and gracious. John told me about http://www.restaurantmiyake.com/ - which was also great. It was like being part of an Iron Chef episode to watch Masa Miyake cook. Nancy cooked a lovely breakfast, which she was able to modify on the spot as I neglected to tell them the night before that I did not eat meat - (other than seafood). A lovely couple was also visiting and we all had a nice conversation. Overall, I highly recommend the Inn at Park Spring, Miyake's, and Portland Generally. T. G. from Houston Texas

“Fun one night get away in a great city”

Came up from Boston for a one night get away in this great city. This B&B is in a good location in a nice neighborhood with convenient parking. Easy walk to great restaurants. Terrific breakfast with some creative egg dishes. Very helpful manager.

Check out the Shipyard Brewery tour, the fun outdoor craft fair near the cruise ship dock and the docks in general, fun to walk around. We also went on a great run by the water.

Our room was the last available and it was fine but did not really have internet access.

Room Tip: Our room was sort of behind the kitchen. It was fine but the last available probably for good reaso...

“Perfect all around”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

The Inn at Park Spring was a perfect landing for my boyfriend and I on New Year's Eve. We were looking for something quiet, comforting, and low-key..and that's exactly what we got! We were utterly and completely taken care of. We stayed in the Gables room which was cozy and warm and had a very nice private bathroom. The art and decor was subtle and elegant yet made us feel like royalty.
Breakfast was divine- a perfect post New Year's meal with fresh pineapple and kiwi, baked eggs and ham, croissants, and blueberry muffins.
John and his staff were personable, friendly, polite, welcoming, and caring. I would recommend this Inn to any couple traveling through or to Portland. It's location is convenient, the food and rooms are high quality, the staff is professional, what more can you ask for?

Room Tip: Be sure to put the shades down in your room because of the street lights and morning sun.

“A perfect getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

My husband and I have stayed twice at this lovely B&B in Portland for two nights each time. It is perfectly located for exploring the city on foot (with your car parked conveniently nearby in a dedicated lot.) The neighborhood is fine, quiet without being dead, and equidistant to the Eastern and Western promenades, and close to downtown's plethora of great restaurants and shopping. Both rooms we have stayed in were comfortable, clean and nicely furnished. Although I could have sworn the sheets were satin they were just some (very) high count cotton- like buttah! A very comfortable bed and large fluffy towels ensure a pleasant indulgent stay. The rooms are typical of Victorian architecture: quirky, cozy, with nooks and angles arrived at by climbing a set of narrow stairs. There is a small market next door perfect for picking up anything forgotten or desired-and sometimes there is a jazz combo playing in the entryway!. Wifi worked in our room just fine, no need (or want) for television. Breakfast has always been tasty and served hot with a smile by innkeeper John who is a pleasant and knowledgeable host. If you like character, comfort and human interaction - this is the perfect spot. If you want glass, chrome and anonymity- go elsewhere.
