“Nice place to stay for early morning departure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

This is a great choice for an early morning flight out of Portland. Garden Inns are generally wonderful, and this is definitely up to standard. The rooms are lovely. Granite is in the bathroom. Shower pressure is great. Lighting is super. The mattresses are adjustable so you will get the right feel. The wii fii is strong and free. The rooms are immaculate. The lobby is bright and cheery. This hotel is everything the business traveller needs.

Breakfast is a buffet. It's around $8. If you don't want the full buffet you will still be charged the $8. It's a little pricey for some yogurt and and one fried egg, but oh well. The egg was fresh and tasty and the coffee was great.

As for the caveats, if you are hoping for a workout before your flight there are only two treadmills and one elliptical. I happened to score an elliptical and many people walked in and left dissapointed during my workout. This is an airport hotel. You will hear planes. Fortunately, in Portland, the planes don't really last all night long. The noise didn't bother me at all, but some of my colleagues found it annoying.

Airport is seven minutes away max, probably less. There is no convenient place to fuel up your rental between the hotel and the airport. You probably should take care of this the night before.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I am glad you enjoyed your stay! Did you know there is a gas station at the end of the Jetport runway? Its app. .5 mi away from the hotel although you do need to go onto the main road. Next time your with us, call us in advance and we can guide you to the gas station before you come in! Thanks again and look forward to having you as a guest in the future.

“Perfect for one night stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

We stayed one night and then headed north, so this was perfect. While staying near the water would have been more interesting, we got in late, and left early, so it would have been stupid to pay more. This hotel was very nice--clean, comfortable, and affordable. I highly recommend it.

“Okay Stay... Stuck in a Smoking Room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

Stayed 1 night in August while making our trip along the Maine coast. We got stuck in a smoking room due to the hotel being fully booked... we didn't know hotels still had smoking rooms even available! The hotel did offer to deodorize the room but I don't know if it would have helped. They did give us a couple breakfast vouchers since we couldn't move rooms. It's a great location for anyone flying out of the Portland Airport.

Thanks for the review and I am sorry you got stuck in a smoking room. We made some changes and only have 2 in the hotel now so they are far and few. I hope you come stay with us for a visit again and give me a call at 207-347-5651 upon making your reservations. I will be sure to pre-block you in a non smoking room.

“Convenient Airport Location, Nice People, Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

This hotel is located directly in front of the main entrance to the Portland International Airport. It is the perfect hotel for early morning airport departures - the trip from the hotel to the rental car return was literally a few minutes at most. The hotel was chosen primarily for its location. From listening to some people in the lobby I understand the hotel offers a limited number of room/parking packages for those who want to leave their car while they are away on trips. This would be the ideal hotel to this do this given the location. In addition, the mall/ shopping area is only a few miles from the property. I did need to get down to the waterfront on several occasions during the weekend and found it to be a short trip of no more than 10-15 minutes...very easy to navigate.

The front desk personnel were extremely efficient, friendly and helpful. The room was a King and featured a flat screen TV, free internet, desk and chair and a large comfortable chair with ottoman. There was also a coffee maker and small bar area/refrigerator. The room was clean but slightly dated. The carpeting in the room in particular could use a change. The bathroom was ample in size and had a tub/shower. The usual complimentary items such as shampoo and soaps were provided. Even though it is right next to the airport, there was never any indication of airport noise during my time in the hotel, although the same can't be said for the kids in the room across the hall who made the hallway their playground.. The single room service meal was simple, but it was actually a terrific burger at a reasonable price. Although included I left too early each day to sample the breakfast.

The hotel is typical airport fare, with a small restaurant, a small, well stocked area for sundries and snacks and a lounge/eating area near the front lobby. The rooms could use a little freshening up but they are clean, well-sized and the personnel make you feel welcome. The price is right for the hotel and the convenience.

“Always have a great time.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

We have stayed at this hotel several times and we alway have a great time. This time we brought my Brother and Sister-in-law and they loved the experience as much as we always do. We have been staying on the 3rd floor the last few stays and would request staying on this floor just for the great service from the housekeepers.

There is one lady I should try to get her name next time I stay she is always she was Europen I think. She rememberes us from the last stay and made us feel welcome. She works up on the 3rd floor. People like this is what makes us go back every time.
