“Stayed here twice...you get what you pay for!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We stayed here in May 10, and Oct. 11. We used the "roomsaver" coupon (downloadable online) and got the room for $44 each night. The rooms are a bit worn, but clean, and safe. Which are the most important things to me. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom clean and in good condition. There is a Dennys' in the same parking lot, and a modest continental breakfast if you want it. Its not too bad for a quick bite. Im rating this very good, because it is actually a very good deal for what we paid for it. I will gladly stay here every time - I need to stay near Portland Maine. Thanks Travelodge!!

Room Tip: use a room saver coupon....

“You get what you pay for!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011 via mobile

This place is a real budget motel. Felt a bit scared as a few weirdos hanging around outside and location is not very nice. Saying that the room was fine and the lady that checked us in was very nice and sweet.

“Better off staying in your car!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

I stayed at the Travelodge Portland for a concert this past weekend with my brother and my boyfriend. We were looking for something cheap, since we were not returning until really late and leaving the next morning. I wish we had stayed in the car! The room smelt like stale cigarettes, the bed was very uncomfortable. The comforter had burn holes in it, and the heat did NOT work! We put it on full blast when we checked in hoping it would kick in by the time we returned about 7 hours later, and still nothing. Not wanting to use the dirty comforter, we froze for the night. Not to mention, there was a VERY loud, repeated banging noise until 5AM! And to top it off, our curtain wouldn't close all the way so you could see in our room. We did it to ourselves so I didn't bother complaining to the front desk staff, (who were very friendly), you do get what you pay for. But, if you want to stay in a loud, smelly room with no heat or privacy, then the Travelodge Portland is for you.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms in the back "2nd Building". Maybe there won't be the banging noise.

“Good Place for the Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

We stayed for a night and for the price we paid,it was very good. The Front staff was very knowledgeable and helful.Yeah, the place looks old from the road but rooms were good.

Compared to some other motels.hotels we stayed during our New Eng trip, this place was much better.
Would recommend for a night for the right price

“Uggh!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

It wasn't filthy or dangerous, but pretty run down, and expensive for what you were getting. The worst of it was I booked it through Hotwire, and on that service, they don't tell you what facility you are booking until you have paid and are committed. As soon as I found out the facility I had just paid for, I checked Trip Advisor and saw the many low ratings, and realize I'd been ripped off. To make it worse, I checked the price on Travelodge's web site, and I would have paid the same as I did on Hotwire, except I would not have been committed. The only good part of this was that we only had to stay for 8 hours.
