“Log cabin right on the lake, peaceful and relaxing, good breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2010

Gorgeous setting right on the lake, lovely wooded surrounds, so relaxing and peaceful, we enjoyed our 2 night stay but longer would have been better. Convenient for visiting Bar Harbour. Gina is very nice and friendly, serves up a good breakfast, plus yummy muffins to keep you going for hours. Also very large recreation / games room in the basement with lounges, tv, books etc, to keep you occupied.

“Beautiful setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

We love it! The setting on the lake is divine. Not too far from Bar Harbor and Acadia. Gina is a wonderful host and knows everything about the area. It's like having a concierge. We would definitely stay there again and again.

“The perfect respite from the rigors of life!”

Picking lodging on line can lead to missed expectations. As we drove through the woods near sunset on gravel roads, I wondered if I had made the right choice with Alamoosook Lakeside Inn. Then... there it was right in front of the lake with this magnificient view. We hurried to get our camera and wine and sat out on the adirondeck chairs as the orange glow bathed the still lake and the loons sang in the distance. I knew we had made the perfect choice. Not only was the Inn and Lake charming, Gina, the owner and innkeeper was very helplful throughout our trip locating places and restaurants to visit. The first day we visited a salmon fishery across the lake and went for a hike in the area. It was wild blueberry season and we picked up a container on the way back to snack on. The inn is located well to make day trips to as far south as Rockport ,as far north as Bar Harbor, and all points in between on the coast. During our trip Gina hooked me up with a local fishing guide, Dave. His Maine accent is thick and he is both interesting and entertaining; not to mention we caught about 15 fish in a half day. On our last day we got up early before one of Gina's wonderful breakfasts and took the kayaks available at the inn out on the lake to explore the rocky coast line and the islands on the lake. Once again the lake was still, the water and air temperatures were comfortable and the loons entertained us. What a way to end a wonderful trip with memories for a life time. We were relaxed and hated to leave. I know we will be back.

“Incredible place to relax or hold events”

This is a true gem of a place with great hospitality and service. Great place to just kick back and enjoy the real Maine or have a gathering of any type.
Maybe the party that bpd736 was with ought to actually read the legal contract that they signed beforehand so they could negotiate different terms if needed instead of slandering someone who does nothing but give her guests 100% satisfaction. And anyone in Maine knows that you don't leave screen doors open in the spring/summer or you will be dealing with hundreds of flying insects.
