“Winter get-away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Our family has visited the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn three times for extended weekends in January and February. Each time we found clean, warm, quiet rooms, delicious breakfasts, and amazing access to Maine's winter beauty -- snowshoeing and X-country skiing on the lake and trails, hiking Great Pond Mountain, and driving the less than 1 hour route to Acadia to explore the park trails with no crowds! Best part is coming back to the Inn to relax by the woodstove, read, visit, and plan the next wonderful day.

“Winter on Alamoosook”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

My husband and I enjoyed our winter visit last year to the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn so much that we made a return visit this year again in early February. In contrast to last year's abundant snow, there was little this year, however, the beauty of the frozen lake, the always warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Inn (love that fire in the wood stove!) with its beautiful woodwork and cozy rooms with a view of the lake just outside your door, and Innkeeper Gina's warm hospitality and delicious breakfasts in her sun-filled dining room were just as wonderful as we had remembered. There is no lack of winter activities - we hiked into pristine Hot Hole Pond and snow shoed on the snowmobile trails. We especially enjoyed watching the eagles gather about the ice fishing holes waiting for the fish to magically jump out and into their talons (at least that's what we imagined they were doing as they sat there after picking over the remnants left behind by the ice fishermen). A special touch was the pot of hot coffee, cup of tea or hot chocolate always awaiting us on our return from an outdoor adventure! We highly recommend a winter stay at the Inn!

“Wonderful any time of year”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

The Alamoosook Lakeside Inn has everything needed for a relaxing get-away weekend or an extended vacation stay: quiet, clean, comfortable and private rooms, delicious breakfasts, a panoramic view of the beautiful lake, its islands and wildlife, the pleasure of chats with other guests, and the opportunity for quiet reading or reflection. I have been fortunate to be at the Inn during both summer and winter seasons. Each offered its own special attractions: summer canoeing, kyaking, swimming, and loon-watching; winter hikes on the ice, skating, and cozy evenings around the Inn’s fireplace. The eagles are fascinating all year. All of this was highlighted by the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by Innkeeper Gina whose devotion to her guests, the Inn and the beautiful Maine environment provided memorable stays for my family and me.

Room Tip: I have stayed in 3 different rooms dudring various visits. Each has been very clean, quiet and most...

“Wonderful and enchanting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

I was fortunate to spend the Christmas holiday at this delightful lakeside Inn. Gina (owner) was so welcoming, gracious and attentive. The room I stayed in was charming, comfortable, clean, warm and quiet with a Hummingbird theme. The food was delicious. Gina was very informative about local areas to explore. And there was fresh snow for snowshoeing! Thank you so much, I'll be back :)

“Great Get-A-Way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2011

Stayed here for 3 days, 2 nights. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Spent the day out in a canoe, my husband fishing. Very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Our room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Wished we could've opened the one window in the room (A/C in it) - to fall asleep to the sounds of nature. But, other than that, it was wonderful. No TV in the rooms, which was fine with us. (Fell asleep reading a book!) Breakfasts were excellent - staff very warm and welcoming. Price was very reasonable! Will definitely return. Beautiful spot for a wedding . . . plan to suggest that to our son! :)
