I will start by saying that the owner of this motel is either in the process of a nervous breakdown or has skitsophrenia. The price for 3 nites stay changed three different times from the time we were quoted over the phone during booking right up until checkout. We had a very large party which rented out the entire top floor. Our ages ranged between 20 mos - 69 years old! Each party was charged a different rate when all of us were quoted the same price. The owner screamed at us 2 out of the 3 nites stay for being loud and partying. This was absolutely absurd considering the so called "partyers" were the oldest and quietest out of the whole group and were keeping their voices to a whisper, not to mention it wasnt even 11 pm. However, not only were we screamed at, we were cursed at as well, and young children were near by. I find that totally unacceptable. The motel cleanliness is not even up to par. There is visible mold in every nook & cranny. The stand up shower has a layer of slime on the floor. Beds were sandy. Carpets were ripped. Refreigerators did not work properly and food spoiled. No air conditioning. Fluorescent lights. No light bulbs in the lamps. Smell of dampness in rooms. The list is endless. Also have to mention the train tracks which are directly behind the motel. The train must go by 1/2 a dozen times during the nite. Not good especially if you have small children. It is so loud. Would I recommend staying at Old Orchard Beach? Absolutely. Beach is beautiful and lots to see & do for families. But NEVER EVER would I recommend The Crosswinds for people looking to have "fun" on their vacation. This was a joke.
