...but this first time at a bed & breakfast (after years of travelling) has opened my eyes to a whole new way of enjoying an initial stay in an area. The only downside is that any other B&B will have to be spectacular to even come close to this experience. Jacqui Grant immediately made us feel that we were not staying at an inn - we were returning home. Without being obtrusive, she anticipated our needs. The room was very nice (my wife loved the decor, I appreciated the comfort). Despite being at the front of the house and right off a very busy Route 1, our sleep was quite comfortable. The room had more than sufficient space for an early riser such as myself to not disturb my light sleeping wife.
We were also uncertain how to approach the first morning breakfast. (Actually, Jacqui had coffee made quite early and, having learned the night before that I was an early riser, knocked lightly on the door to let me know the coffee was ready). We went out and sat at the patio well before the breakfast time (8:30). Because the day was comfortable, Jacqui decided to have the breakfast on the patio. She presented a extremely satisfying (and huge!) meal, customized to our particular needs - my wife has a tender stomach, I am omniverous. When the other guests started arriving, she facilitated introductions, and her casual mannerisms and graciousness facilitated a discussion. I was surprised to see that breakfast had lasted for over an hour and a half of pleasant converstaion.
The first evening she recommended a fine restaurant and got us reservations despite the very overcrowded town. She also got us reservations when none were available at other restaurants of our choice. She is very knowledgeable and helpful about her town.
When I return to this area , I will stay at no other place. Thanks for a great experience.
Room Tip: loved the garden room - 1st floor and a separate outside entrance.
