I just returned with my family ( ages 3 and 6) and all was pretty much okay until the last hour of the last day of our vacation. It seemed our "host" had things bottled up inside and just let loose on me because I asked for an hour extended check-out. I was pretty sure it wouldnt be a problem because the Inn was not full at all, a majority of people checked out on Sunday, the day before.
However, I felt that since my host knew that I had 2 small children, that it would be accomodating to me to grant the wish. Well, she did, saying I could have an hour, at the most. So, I told my 2 children that while I packed, Daddy would go with them to the pool and they could swim a little bit on their last day.
After I returned the key, about 15 min later, my host came out to the pool and LITERALLY and OFFICIALLY asked me and my children to LEAVE!!! AT first, I didn't know if she was serious, then she forcefully said that when I check out it is COMPLETELY OFF the premises ! There were 2 other people at the pool at the same time who heard this, and they were shocked, as well as I was, They told me they themselves would go to the Chamber of Commerce and complain, they had never seen anything like it.
I am still in shock that after spending $195 p/night for 5 nights, that on the last day of our stay, I was kicked out, because I was NO LONGER welcome. I was welcome until 11AM, but not after that. What gets me the most, is that the inn was half-empty that day, with only 2 other people sunning themselves, and IT BOTHERED THE HOST THAT MY 2 children were using the pool at 12:15PM. (they were they only ones in the pool) Unbelievable.
I have never in my entire life experienced such rudeness, being so unprovoked. I was extremely careful and considerate of my behaviour and my children's the ENTIRE time. My only complaint is that there is NO INSULATION/sound proofing at all in the entire inn. You walk down the hall to your room and you can clearly hear conversations, and different tv channels that are being watched.
We considered staying an extra night, or perhaps returning still this summer. However, folks, please read those negative reviews. They are right on. The owners are not hosts, they seem to be in the wrong business, it shouldn't be hospitality.I did feel like another poster with kids when she said she felt like she was being watched so closely.
However, if you have no children and you are of the quiet type, especially older, and if you don't eat much for breakfast, or use the pool towels, then, this is the place for you. The hosts will be very happy with guests like that.
