“Clean, good family place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

This motel would be great for families vacationing together. It is not a romantic spot and I would not stay there again for a couples weekend. It is not close to downtown! I thought from the literature that is was closer. Walking downtown is well over a mile. The hotel is very clean and had a full size refrigerator and a microwave in the room. The room was quite spacious and had a front porch with chairs. The bathroom was also spacious. There are both inside and outside pools. The downside was that it was very noisy between the upstairs and our room downstairs. You could hear everyone walking around. The rooms are close to the parking lot and you could hear people coming and going all the time (and it was not a busy time of year) as well as talking. Lastly, the beds are not very comfortable for those with bad backs. I'm sure they would be fine for kids and people who aren't too particular about their mattresses.

Room Tip: You may want to ask for a room on the second floor as I think it would be much less noisy.

“Excellent value with great amenities.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2011 via mobile

This is a great place to stay on a budget. It's right on the trolley line if you want to go into town or the beaches. Ogunquit has some excellent restaurants but you can save some cash by walking over to Ogunquit Pizza and eat in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the Ogunquit River. Save your food and drinks in the full size fridge. The rooms are clean and staff attentive. Great indoor and outdoor pools/jacuzzi... And they even have a Bocce court.

“A gem off season”

We stayed one night in a room with two queen beds. There was a ramp from the parking lot to the first floor rooms and we took stairs to the second floor from there. It was a large room on the second floor with windows that overlooked the walkway to the rooms and had a view of the salt marsh with the ocean beyond. The beds were firm and very comfortable, the pillows were nice and the sheets were crisp and clean.
The bathroom was perfect for us. The toilet and shower were together in one room and the sink and mirror were directly outside that door in a small room that included a hair dryer, full size ironing board and iron.
The staff were warm and helpful, I would stay again.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have a better view.

“Well maintained, great staff!”

We stayed at the Mariner on monday and tuesday in September. We neglected to make a reservation, assuming it wouldn't be terribly busy mid-week. We got the last avilable room (a 3 bed suite) and although it was a little more than we wanted to spend, the private balcony overlooking the pool, river, and seashore in the distance was a great plus. The room was impeccably clean, the gardens AMAZING, and the pools spotless. The front desk was kind enough to provide us with real glasses which we forgot to bring, and even gave us a slight break on the rate because there were only two of us. Many thanks to the owners and staff who made our anniversary trip a memorable experience!

“Easy Stay in Ogunquit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

I recommend the Mariner as clean, enjoyable place to stay on your Maine tour. Beds were firm but soft if possible. Nicely fresh linens, View of the ocean on distant Ogunquit Beach. Modestly priced on a very busy weekend of Sept 10/11. They had an indoor and outdoor pool as well as a hot tub. Lovely well maintained gardens of annuals And breakfast was available in the form of juice, milk, tea or coffee, donuts! yoghurt and very fresh fruit! I had all I needed. I can recommend this particular weekend again because we enjoyed the Beach Kite Festival, fun for kids, adults and photographers.
