“A mixed bag”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2010

My fiance' and I stayed in a cabin by the lake, The Loon, cabin 4, which to my knowledge is one of the only (or maybe the only) cabin(s) with a queen sized bed. Additionally there were 2 other bunk bed & another twin sized bed. Linens were shabby & no bathroom in cabin. The Inn seemed nice & food at the Loose Moose was very good. In general the staff was also very nice.

We stayed in the Inn. Beautiful, peaceful place with a wonderfully hospitable staff.

“We were lucky to discover this inn!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2010

We were looking for a convenient place to spend a few nights after making day hikes in Baxter State Park and found much more! The lobby and room were very cozy. We decided that after spending long days on the trail, we'd splurge (still under the cost of most hotel rooms) on a room with a private bath. Great idea! The bar/restaurant was open during our stay. I can't remember the last time I've seen wait staff with such hustle and enthusiasm to please customers. This quality of service continued throughout our stay even to the point of having a flexible starting time for the continental breakfast to appease early morning hikers.

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2010

My husband and I spent 4 nights in the Inn and had a very nice stay. The owner and staff were wonderful and didn't make me feel bad when I messed up our reservation. We ate in the bar each night as my husband was out every day and didn't feel like driving into Millinocket for supper. The food was good. We didn't eat in the dining room.
We had a room with 2 double beds. The room was small for our 3 suitcases (on a 19 day road trip), but was clean with very nice bed linens. The furniture was all antiques that fit this old lodge. The bathroom was also small but clean.
Our reason for visiting this area was going to Baxter State Park and I would recommend this Inn to anyone planning to be in the vicinity. There are cabins and campsites on the property as well as three rafting companies and a store/gas station.
