The staff was nice, but that's about all positive we can say about this place. The access ramps are dangerous, and the parking is too far away for handicapped individuals. No handicapped spots "nearer" the inn. The driveway needs upgrading, with many holes that were full of water from the steady, driving rain (not their fault). The room (Island Queen) is MUCH smaller than the internet pictures would indicate. You'd better have great knees to get down to the toilet seat! The seat was loose. The water pressure is very weak. There are not enough electrical outlets for any additional uses. The chairs are very thin and old. There was no switch near the door to turn on the lights at night upon entering the room. The screen door had apparently broken, and they hadn't bothered to fix it. The continental breakfast is weak, and the orange juice was fermenting. I had none the second day. The bed was uncomfortable. The room was musty, and there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. Apparently, they think you can exhaust by opening the little window in the bathroom and then the little window in the back storage room. NOT!!! The towels are paper thin, but they ask you to reuse them to save water and energy. While we like that idea, these were not the towels to reuse. There is no place to hang them to dry. There is no toilet paper holder, so you'd better have great shoulders, as you have to reach behind you for the TP (and then the seat moved!). Put the TP on the bathtub if you don't want to have to see your chiropractor after your visit. Nice views on the walkway, but the chairs are hard metal, and very uncomfortable and low. We didn't bother asking for the money back as we left a day early, and, from these reviews, it appears we needn't have bothered. The area is a tacky industrial area, which of course they conveniently forget to include in their advertisement. Please don't be fooled by what you see online. It isn't what you will get when you make the mistake of staying there.
Room Tip: Don't stay here!!!!!

Dear Guest,
Our accommodations offer a wide variety of options. Renovations are taking place continuously.
We welcome our guests to let us know of any dissatisfaction they may have at their earliest convenience. If we can upgrade you to another accommodation we will do so immediately.
We do our very best to accommodate any handicap needs. We do welcome our guests to keep their vehicles in the check-in turn around as long as possible. Our desk or housekeeping staff would have been happy to valet the car if that was a need. We are often juggling tasks but it is our priority to make a guest feel at ease.
We are proud to be neighbors with the distinguished Hinckley boat company, former owners of our inn. We are in a boating section of Southwest Harbor. The only reason that the inn is able to be in this particular breathtaking location is because it is grandfathered here. For this reason we are the only inn on this point and in the village of Manset.
We have had our electrician add outlets to the room, and are having our contractor assess the ramps. We are discussing your other concerns as well, and making improvments where appropriate.
Sincerely,
The Moorings Inn
