I had made reservations for 4 rooms about a week prior to our road trip through the 1 800 DAYS INN on my Amex and on the day of arrival had to cancel due to the fact that we just couldn't drive that far. I called the hotel directly to cancel my reservations and they WOULDN'T! That's right, they told me to call the Days Inn number, since that's how I booked these rooms in the first place. Not a problem, I called & cancelled my rooms and was given a Confirmation #. I come back from my trip and realise that my Amex was charged for all 4 rooms! I called the Days Inn and they started an investigation. Days later, I was told the charges would be reversed. The charges weren't reversed, and now I had to escalate my issue with Corporate office of Days Inn. They investigated and will be sending me a cheque for the charges within the next 4 weeks! They can't reverse the charges, they can only send a cheque... they won't give me any additional funds for interest ... and won't compensate for my troubles or time!
I'll never deal with Days Inn ever again!!!!
