We stayed at the Maine Stay Inn and Cottages this past weekend for 2 nights. Even though it was very much the offseason for Kennebunkport, ME, it was a true pleasure staying here. I'd highly recommend this Inn and we'll make sure to stay there when we return to the area.
People: Judi, Walter, Duke and everyone else at the Inn were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the area. When we first arrived, the first thing we got was cookies, tea and an overview of the area/recommendations for where to eat. Their top priority was not simply for us to pay, check in, and get out of their way. They wanted to make sure our stay started out perfectly. At breakfast each morning and each afternoon when Duke stopped by the room with cookies and milk, they were all still a pleasure to talk with. We couldn't ask for better hosts!
Amenities: We stayed in a Cottage with a gas fireplace and 2-person Jacuzzi tub. The cottage was beautiful. The fire was warm. The jacuzzi was bubbly and great. Everything was extremely clean. The cottages look modest from the outside, especially compared to the beautiful house, but ours really was great. And it's nice to not have to worry about noise as much as you might when you're inside the house of a B&B.
Food: We had breakfast both mornings, and each was totally unique and absolutely delicious. Each breakfast came with fruit salad, juice and coffee. And then each morning, Judi had baked a different bread. The first morning, we had a delicious Asian baked egg dish with scallions and water chestnuts. The second morning, we had eggs, sausage and a baked apple. It all felt homemade gourmet and we cleaned our plates. I'm still thinking about that bread!
Room Tip: We stayed in Cottage 1 - gas fireplace and 2-person jacuzzi. You can't go wrong with that room...
