We were on a "road trip" to Maine with our two sons (6yrs & 9yrs) and decided to spend our 1st weekend in Kennebunkport. Since we had another oceanfront resort booked for the trip I decided to stay in town. I found and booked Chetwynd House because they welcomed kids. My boys had never experiences a B & B before (because I have never before found one that allowed kids) and they loved it. The room/suite we had offered plenty of clean, comfortable space for the 4 of us and they atmosphere was very relaxed. I never felt like we were "walking on eggshells" with the kids in the inn, although I must say my kids were very well behaved because we explained to them that we were staying in someone's home. Innkeeper Bob Knowles made delicious "kid friendly" breakfasts and put out warm cookies in the afternoons. He also tipped us off to a great "local" beach where no permits were required and the kids spent hours exploring tidal pools. The location was perfect as we could just step out the front door into the quaint village of Kennebunkport and not worry about having to find parking. I would highly recommend the inn to anyone - with or without kids.
