Drove to Kport at the last minute on Columbus Day weekend, stopped into The Yachtsman and got a room for $179.00. At this value, TY is a find! Views, location, rooms, outdoor seating all excellent. I don't know whether I would pay $300+ for this hotel though. I think I would expect a luxurious, service oriented hotel (with a pool and restaurant) for that price, but it worked for us this particular time for that particular price. I realize that it is the end of the season, but the management seems to have a skeleton crew working this place. Crew did very well, but why don't the owners put some of the money into more staff? One more thing out of management's control, breakfast would be a nightmare if it was raining.

Also, being a long time Kport visitor, I note that this string of hotels, White Barn, Yachtsman, Breakwater, all one owner, have been overpriced for years. They seem to go wanting when every other hotel in Kport is sold out. Hint, hint - be more reasonable with your rates.

This was a cute inn with a great location. Cozy room with a comfy bed and soft linens. We enjoyed the complimentary bikes that we rode down to walkers point. Pet friendly, complimentary breakfast (just ok), and friendly staff. Overall, great place, but we thought it was a little pricey.

My wife and I have stayed at the Yachtsman probably over a dozen times over the last couple of years, it is our favorite place to stay in the area. Great King Size Beds with good quality linens, every room has a sunset view, which can be warm in the summer, walking distance to town and shops and restaurants. Overall a great place, they also own the White Barn Inn, Breakwater Inn and Spa, Restaurants Grissini and, Stripers. The place is well maintained but you should be aware that this is not top of the market accomodations, but the prices reflect that. We have never made reservations as we have a few places locally that we like, the walk-in rate is at least 20% less than the internet rate. I am not very picky but my wife is she and I would not stay here if it was just OK. Enjoy

This has a great location on the marina, and you would think that for over $200 a night you would get quality all around, not so.
The rooms are out dated, and are really beach huts. Once you walk in and you see an old fasioned TV you know that it's not really what you would call modern. The bed linen and carpets have seen better days, breakfast area is nothing but a gazebo and a little hut. If all rooms go together there is not enough room.
I do have to say that the rooms were cleaned each day and that was a very good service.
We did not have Internet for 3 Days because the receptionest didn't know how to rest it.
Room next door to Ice Machine, the walls are so thin you can hear it all night.
My other complaint is personal, but let me say take with you proof of booking or extras may be added to your total bill.
This is in such a great location, shame about everything else.
