“Adequate is the word”

We stayed here for a night last week. We were glad to move on the next day. The hotel was full but we thought the $110 a night was high for such basic accomodations. The pool was locked the evening we arrived and throughout the next day. The water was green and murky so we didn't ask why it wasn't open. As previously noted, rooms are dated and bathrooms, towels, etc were worn out. Beds were comfortable and staff were friendly. We stayed in a first floor unit and the sound of people walking overhead was deafening. Also, the breakfast area was crowded with just six people in the room, this space wasn't suited to feed the public.

Not the kind of place I could relax on an extended vacation, most people I talked to were just spending the night.

“Cute but a bit outdated”

We stayed here during our first visit to Kennebunk. Nice looking Ecolodge from the outside but a bit farty inside!! Bathroom had a cracked sink. Shower was dated back to the Lost in Space days! All in all, nice people at the desk and very nice pool and like I said, nice looking property. All in all, I would stay there again. At least the beds were comfortable! Room is very large.

“Adequate for our purpose”

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in late July. We like to go to the coast (Kennebunkport and Ogunquit) during the day, but to stay where it's more low key and calm. That's why we chose a place in Kennebunk. You can get a beach pass that allows you to park by the Kennebunk beaches from the front desk for a $20 deposit that is returned to you. I would say that the accomodations are very basic, with some rough edges (dirty caulking around the tub, dents in the wall, bathroom sink and mirror in poor shape). Also, as previously mentioned, you get a minimal number of towels and we once were left a towel that was suitable only as a cleaning rag, which I returned to the front desk. But the rooms seem to be well insulated for noise. In spite of there being several groups with children of various ages, we were not disturbed by noise of any kind. And while the room could use updating to be sure, I wouldn't say that it was not clean. There is a frig and microwave.

And the front desk staff was indeed pleasant and helpful. So it will serve it's purpose and you do have a decent bkfst. to get you out the door, so if you're not expecting too much and you're not too finicky, it's an OK place to stay.

“We won't go back!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

Upon arrival, there was a note in the door that said, "back in 20 minutes". After waiting a while the clerk came and checked us in. That night, the headboard fell off the wall and hit my daughter in the head. The bathroom was dirty , stained tub poor caulk job and the beds were flimsy. There were only 2 large towels and they were not nice to use, kind of cheap quality. Next day, I asked to be moved to another room or I would have to check out. The clerk said no rooms were available and I would be charge for one more night regardless. I told the clerk I was going to call the Choice Hotel Corporate line and the clerk told me to leave the property or she would call the police. She did call the police.
She did charge my card two additional nights. I complained to the credit card company and got a full refund including the night I stayed. Choice Hotels sent me coupons to cover the one night I stayed also. Corporate said this hotel is a franchisee and they have no control over the rudeness of the staff.

“Big room, good price, breakfast included”

We ride motorcycles and go to Bentley's Saloon in Arundel for entertainment. We stayed here for one night and took a taxi back and forth. The room was very big. The place was neat and clean. The pool was nice (too early to swim). We loved the breakfast provided for free as it saved money and got us on the road to ride nice and early. The front desk was helpful and courteous.
