“happy customer.”

i feel compelled to write this review.

unlike the previous reviewer, i appreciate that this place is open year round. i have stayed in most of the room styles here and have found that the experience is contingent on your budget. if you get the cheapest room, you get a basic motel room. if you spend a little more, you can enhance the experience.

i am a self-proclaimed tough customer. the rooms are always clean to my standards. the staff is friendly and efficient. the free continental breakfast works for me. i am not sure what previous reviewers were expecting, but the hard boiled eggs, fruit salad, yogurt, granola, muffins, waffles and bagels are always fresh and of good quality. i enjoy it for what it is.

i have friends and family in the area, it's a handy option for a quick overnight with free parking within walking distance to town. it's also a good option if you want to spend a little more for a special night with your sweetie.

Room Tip: Pay the extra $10 - $20 for a Deluxe Room. They are huge with a full bath & sofa.

“Inexpensive, and dirty”

Just needed a hotel for one night there, all other hotels, inns are not open during the winter months. Unfortunately, this is Inn, although looks very quaint from the outside, the inside is dingy. Carpets are in need of repair and so is the entire inn. The double shower and tub were ok but the floors and ceilings were in dire need of repair. Very bad odor and the breakfast was truly not worth the price (free). I'm sorry for this poor review, but you have such a wonderful location and you would benefit from renovations. I apologize for the poor review

“Inexpensive, but you get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

I just needed a hotel room for one night as I had a flight issue and had to spend an extra night in Kennebunkport. My previous hotel had no rooms available, so I went with King's Port Inn in Kennbunk. I had a king room to myself. It was large, dark and uninviting. The bedding was limited to a sheet, one of those weird velour hotel blankets and the usual bedspread. Not very cozy. There was no coffee machine in the room, which I missed. I was able to grab bottled water from the cooler in the lobby and charge it to the room, which I appreciated. I also appreciated the complimentary wifi.

Breakfast was included and consisted of bread and bagels for toasting, yogurt, waffles, hard boiled eggs and coffee. The employees were pleasant, but I only saw one on duty at a time behind the desk. I inquired about a taxi to the Portland International Jetport and was pleased that King's Port Inn had its own service to take me there for only $60 (which I also charged to my room, along with the tip so I only had a single bill to settle upon checkout).

“We found this place by accident & it was the best "accident" we ever found!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

We were in Salem MA for Halloween and couldnt wait to get out of there so left Massachusetts and just drove.

We drove and arrived in beautiful Kennebunkport, Maine & came across the Kings Port Inn by accident (other places we were looking to stay were shut for the season & this was the only place left open) and we were so glad we did!!!!!! We took our stay day by day (thought we'd only stay for one night BUT stayed for 3 as had to leave for Boston as plane tickets long pre-booked so drat or we'd stay longer!)

We spoke to the german lady at reception and she gave us the Luxury King Suite for the price of the premium queen (love travelling in the off season!!!) where we had a glorious 4 poster bed, a jacuzzi, a fireplace, mini fridge (even though we couldve left stuff in the car as it was cold outside!!), comfy clean bed,

Breakfast included with fresh made waffles (which we dont eat BUT if you do, they were apparently yummy), coffee/tea/hot chocolate all day long. Piano in the dining room if you like to play.

We met a regular from Syracuse, NY so shared dinner with him in the dining room and were given use of all the kitchen utensils as there was hardly anyone there and we cleaned up after ourselves (and we also gave the german receptionist - so sorry I forgot your name!!!- some cake so she was happy with that!)

We walked around the cute little town of Kennebunkport & got some great pics, worthy of putting on a postcard or calendat. Dinner was at a local restaurant where they served THE biggest lobster meal ever (I dont eat lobster - BUT a giant lobster, milk pail of fries and huge bowl of sald for under $20!!!!!). Straight across the road was a little local store (H.B.Provisions) where they served food/coffee & sold groceries which was yummy & cheap.

Loved it loved it loved it!!! We'd go back in a heartbeat!

“I extended my stay here.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

Originally, I was only going to stay a night, but I extended my stay here by two (2) nights. I recommend this hotel because the staff was nice; and the room was clean. It also felt higher-end for the price, particularly compared to the hotels in Portland.
