This will be our 4th trip to the greenville area. Staying at the moosehead lake family campgrounds. The owners are just wonderful people & we are so looking forward to our next vacation there this coming oct. 2003. As for the moose, my advice is to actively search the local ponds & bogs. Our 1st trip there, we photographed a total of 14 moose both cows & bulls. The fall is the best time if you want to see an impressive bull moose with full rack on him. Lord what sight to see! If you'd rather see the cow with calves, then plan your vacation in may or june of the year. "WARNING" Mother moose is very very cantankerous when it come to anyone getting close to her young ones! She will charge you if she feels at all threatened! Be reminded, she can run at 35mph. You can only run at about 6! Keep your distance & remember to bring a tripod. Enjoy! You'll be back !
