“Excellent stay. The staff were so friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

The rooms was really cozy (so much so that we looked for a picture they had framed in the room and bought it in the town at one of the stores) the staff were so friendly. There is a hiking trail right beside the inn which hikes up to some great look outs. The hotel is connected to the store Northern Outfitters. They made it easy to come late by letting us settle up the next moring. If I was in Greenville I would go back to that inn.

Room Tip: My only thing was that it seemed the toilet leaked but once I wiped it up the clean water it was no...

“A hidden gem on North Woods doorstep. Microwave too!”

Jim and Sheila are charming proprietors. My experience began when I changed my reservation, not once but twice, due to weather and personal events. Each time, the owners were obliging and considerate. My room was immaculate .Bathroom was impeccably clean and also the refrigerator and microwave were spotless. Internet access was flawless. I am certainly not a veteran of Trip advisor but I do find myself becoming impatient with, in my opinion, 'glass half full ' inconsiderate reviews. I have previously read complaints of 'noisy highways" . I am sure the discerning traveler will appreciate that adjacent to Moosehead Lake, there are no significant noisy travel routes of note.
Moosehead Lake is a peaceful oasis. Come here to enjoy yourself and enjoy nature.
I actually overlooked the availability of a microwave as surely I would have brought my delisicious weekend leftovers in a cooler. Moose Mountain Inn has my vote. 5 stars for value.
Thank you. I'd like to return.

Room Tip: You cannot go wrong here. The rooms are clean and cared for. Exceptionally clean. The hotel descript...

“Very disappointing, based on other reviews”

Staff was very friendly, but the bathroom was dirty. The shower curtain and mat were mildewed. The facility needs updating. If we were going to stay another night we would have gotten another hotel.

“Hotel fronts a noisy state highway, lousy views of lake.”

Moosehead Lake is a special place. When you go, there are many exciting trips, tours, hikes to take. The same people that own Northwood Outfitters by the blinking light, own this place too. We clearly did not get objective advice on places to visit or the best prices.

The hotel fronts right against the busy state road. Lumber trucks come barreling through at all times of day. Not a quiet location and not much of a view of the lake. The swimming pool is a joke.

“"great staff, clean inviorment, I can't wait to go back!"”

Shiela and Jim where warm and welcoming. The rooms where clean and comfortable. I couldn't think of a negative comment to leave if I had to.

The location is excellent for all outdoor activities. There is one of the greatest/most challenging quad trails, literally steps away from your hotel door and a cool clean pool, that's open all the time.

I can't wait to go back, maybe for some snowmobiling this winter, I can only imagine it would be great aswell.
