“Just Right.”

We found that quite a few of the hotels in and around Freeport were pretty expensive so we decided to go with the Village Inn after reading the reviews on TA and more importantly because of the price.

Great location at the top of Main Street, within walking distance of all the shops. First shop is literally a minute’s walkaway; this is how near it is. Plenty of parking at the Inn too.

The rooms were basic but were spotlessly clean. That’s all we wanted as spent the majority of the day shopping and then having dinner.

We didn’t have time for breakfast so I can’t comment on that.

We checked in around 1pm and then basically shopped until around 9pm. This was more than enough time, 2 nights would have been overkill.

Last piece of advice, the majority of the stock in the North Face outlet is size medium so if you are a large (like me) don’t pin all your hopes on buying a load of gear.

In summary a clean, basic hotel in a great location with cheap rates.

Nice and neat rooms at a great price. Breakfast of blueberry pancakes (what else would you have in Maine?) was very good. Kept us going all day. The owners are very friendly and pleasant company at breakfast. They were very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Our family trip to Freeport was exceptional! The Village Inn was like
staying at your grandparents home. Rooms were exceptionally clean, nicely done and did I say clean?? There is nothing fancy about this place but it has everything you need when you return to your hotel after a long day of sightseeing. It is right in the midst of everything you want to do in Freeport. You can walk to it all!! Breakfast was cooked to your liking and the owners are everyday people trying to make your stay the best it can be. We hope to return next year. If you are looking for amenities...you are at the wrong place. If you want to feel like you are going home......you are there at the Village Inn. We all loved it.

“Clean, basic rooms in a great location.”

We travel to freeport several times per year and have previously stayed at Comfort Suites, Best Western and the Maine Idyll Court.

If you are looking to live in the lap of luxury, look elsewhere. If you are looking for clean, basic accomodations at a price that will allow you to shop 'til you drop at all the great Freeport outlets because of all the money you saved on hotels, this is the place for you!

The Village Inn offers basic rooms that are cleaned to the point you could literally eat off the floor. It's the cleanest room I've ever been in and I tried hard to find the dirt! The breakfast (which is included in the price of the room) is excellent. You have the choice of bacon and eggs, pancakes or French toast, coffee, juice, etc.

The hosts are an older couple who are lifelong residents of Freeport. Very sweet people and willing to chat about things to do in the area, etc.

We loved the location of the inn. We could walk to LL Bean in about 5 minutes.

For the price, this is a great spot! I will stay here again! Happy travels!

Stayed here while traveling through New England. The location is great and has easy access to shops. The room was very basic, but really clean. The hosts were very friendly and cooked our breakfast to order. I would have no problem staying here again should I be in this area in future.
