“Our visit to the Chebeague Orchard Inn was perfect”

We visited the inn for a special event- our marriage ceremony. We had never been to Chebeague, and we wanted to stay someone unique and peaceful. We found the website outstanding, and were able to communicate with J. and Jenny via email exclusively. They were exceptionally responsive and we were arrived on the island a day before our ceremony with full confidence that we would have a great time there. And we did. It was a very simple event and J. and Jenny helped make our time there relaxing and very special.

The inn is very elegant and charming. The decor (and general presentation) is not ornate, but simple and lovely and seems to fit perfectly with the character of the island. The rooms were light, airy and comfortable. The common areas were large and comfortable. We loved the enclosed porch and the orchard. But the heart of the inn lies within the innkeepers. J. and Jenny go above and beyond in every way. The food is amazing, the attention to detail is exceptional. They truly love the island and their enthusiasm and warmth really help us to appreciate the island that much more.

This is a wonderful, beautiful and truly unique. Anyone interested in visiting islands in the Casco Bay should take a look. Take advantage of the last days of October- they will be closing for the season in November!

“Families will love this place, and so will everyone else”

We just returned from a great family vacation at the Chebeague Orchard Inn. Our hosts, Jenny Goff and J Holt, seem to possess an almost instinctive talent for hospitality, and are a pleasure to be around. Jenny cooked superb and diverse breakfasts for us (using fresh and natural ingredients, all from nearby sources), while J was enormously helpful with "local knowledge", and both went out of their way to be cordial to our family (without being overly effusive or pretentious). The place itself is oozing with authentic New England charm, and possesses a low key, almost understated elegance. Even though the Inn was fully occupied for most of the time we stayed, there was never a sense of it beng overcrowded or noisy. Bottom line-if you are looking to relax for a few days, and you can appreciate the "real deal" when it comes to a traditional New England coastal vacation, look no more- this is the spot.

“Nice spot nestled in the Casco Islands of Maine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 May 2009

Had a wonderful visit at the Chebeague Orchard Inn. We were met at the Casco Bay Lines dock by Jenny, our Innkeeper. After a rather bumpy ride, came to a quiet little spot on the northeast side of the island. Jenny and partner, J Holt, couldn't have been more accommodating. After settling in our rooms (my very large room had a king and a twin with views of the backyard and guest house, my parent's room was not quite as large, with a king and ocean views), we were offered bikes to explore the island. A very nice touch. Before we arrived, Jenny had offered to prepare us dinner (we were off-season and the restaurants weren't open yet). She worked out a menu and pricing with us and couldn't have been more helpful. Jenny ordered lobster from a local fisherman and prepared a wonderful meal for us. Mentioned in passing that we were taking my parent's for a little trip to celebrate their anniversary and Jenny surprised us with an anniversary cake for dessert. Thoughtful touch! We really liked the accommodations and getting to know our innkeepers, J and Jenny. The only drawback to the spot was the lack of vehicle transportation. In hindsight, we should have hired a taxi so we could explore the entire island.

“Loved Chebeague Orchard Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2007

We had a delightful stay in a very large, comfortable room with a beautiful view across a meadow to the waters of Casco Bay. The owners are relaxed, experienced hosts with a lovely family including a sweet dog. They picked us up late on a Friday night from the ferry landing and gave us plenty of ideas for exploring the island on bikes that we borrowed from the "Bike Man" down the street. We learned more about the newly independent town of Chebeague Island on this second trip. We plan to return every year. This B&B seems perfectly situated on the island.
