“DELIGHTFUL STAY IN CAMDEN”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

I found the Blue Harbor House to be a very pleasant bed and breakfast. It is located only a few blocks from the waterfront in a beautiful New England Style house. The hosts ask that you call if you will be checking in after 6pm. When I called Terry and told him we were going to check in after a sunset sail, he said enjoy!! Once we arrived, he promptly showed us to the common area where we could divulge in Irish butter cookies that were to die for, and a cup of hot tea. Then he toted our luggage up the stairs to the Sea Dream Suite. It was a wonderful room with lovely decor. Breakfast was served in a beautiful wall to wall window dining area. Not really anything in the way of a "view" but the morning light was nice. The breakfast was delicious, 2 course and it was wonderful. The coffee had an endless bottom and the food was piping hot and well presented. Camden is a unique town in Maine and I enjoyed it very much. I also enjoyed being pampered by the wonderful staff during my stay at the Blue Harbor House. A definite A+ in all categories.

“Beautiful B&B in a beautiful town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

We spent two nights here in October, and had a great experience. We stayed in the Compass Rose room, which was spacious with a king size canopy bed, gas stove, nice big TV, a bath with a claw foot tub and big separate shower. The Innkeepers were welcoming and friendly and gave great restaurant suggestions. Breakfast was the best I've ever had, in a large sunny dining room with lots of tables, and speedy service. You must experience the meal to appreciate it. You will not be disappointed with the accomodations , just a couple of blocks from the downtown of this beautiful town.

Room Tip: The Compass Rose room was very nice and spacious with an outdoor entry and large bathroom.

“Autumn in Maine - perfect days in Camden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

Again we spent some days in Camden as we do from time to time - it's always a pleasure to stay in the Blue Harbor House. Annette & Terry gave us a very warm welcome and we immediately felt at home. We love style, perfect service and the extraordinary delicious breakfast Annette is cooking - she deserves at least one Michelin star for her wonderful ideas.
A good glass of wine makes an evening after a long relaxing day perfect. Terry's recommendations where to go and for activities and dining are always very helpful and excellent.
We will definitely come back when we're in Maine next time and can highly recommend this B&B. All the best wishes for Annette & Terry - hope to see you soon, M&W from Germany

Room Tip: suites are lovely

“A world-class experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Many travelers use Bed and Breakfast establishements as a kind of stepping stone, a one-night stopping place for a trip from one town to another. Blue Harbor House is well worth a longer stay. The accomodations were excellent, in the style of old time, down-east, New England. Twenty-first century amenities include air-conditioning, color TV's and fast wireless internet connectivity.
But is not just the Bed that is outstanding. The Breakfasts are incredible. They are specially prepared by Annette, your hostess, and served with morning cheer by Terry, your host. It is hard to describe the bill of fare. There are two plates for each breakfast. The emphasis is on local foods, but this is not a slavish addiction. Instead, the food is a showcase for the best that can be served to the guests. In the afternoon, there is a tea. Annette makes the biscuits and cookies, and they are just as flavorful as the breakfasts.
My wife and I stayed at the Blue Harbor House for five days, and we could have spent longer. The Camcen Hills have trails begging to be explored. The local parks and lakes provided enough diversion for any day-hiker. Longer day trips up and down the coast can originate from The Blue Harbor House. If it rains, go antiquing or settle down with a good book. Try this for your vacation stay. You could not find a better Bed and Breakfast on any continent.

“Camden's Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

My husband and I arrived on a chilly rainy afternoon in October looking for a B&B. We asked a shop owner in town and he recommended the Blue Harbor House. They had one room left - lucky us! Terry greeted us and made us feel right at home. He gave us a map of the area and spot on advice of what to see. After a great nights sleep, we were presented with a gourmet breakfast of orange juice, coffee or tea, raspberry poached pears with cream and caramel apple French toast soufflé. Unbelievably delicious! This was a 5 star breakfast better than the 5 star restaurant we ate at the night before. We will definitely come back to see our new friends Terry and Annette.
