We had the most clean and spacious room with a large updated bathroom, and best of all, we were on the ground floor directly over a lazy river full of ducks! When you open the shutters you're treated to a view of a gorgeous little foot bridge, beautiful flowers and foliage, and best of all, quacking mallards! Instant alarm clock! The rooms are simple and angular, and not overly decorated. If you want "New England Grandma" decor with gingham and lace and teddy bears, this place will seem stark. You won't find any ceramic geese with bows on their necks, but I loved the shutters, the clean lines, open feel, and the ducks! The woman who checked us in was so welcoming and helpful. When we asked for a restaurant recommendation she quizzed us as to our desires and hooked us up with fantastic dinner and breakfast places. The inn's location cannot be beat, just roll out of bed and walk a block or two and you're on the main street of the village. It's quiet and relaxing and although central, has a tucked away feel with that lazy water running right under the building. Oh, and did I mention the DUCKS? Awesome...
