“Best vacation we have ever taken together.”

Let me start off by saying that this trip was not well thought out. We both were able to get some time off together and we decided to spend it in a place I have always dreamed about going to ... MAINE. We flew into Boston, Massachusetts, rented a car, and drove the coast up to a Bed and Breakfast (A Little Dream) in Camden, Maine. When we pulled up to the house we were in shock. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and obviously well kept. We parked the car and went into the parlor where we were greeted by Joanne. She is a magnificent hostess and really wanted to make sure that we experienced all of the wonderful things that the surrounding areas had to offer. The attention to detail in everything is what really blew us away. All of the books in the parlor, along with the beautiful furniture, really made us feel like we were somewhere special. Joanne showed us to our room (Isle Watch Suite - First Floor) and we were all smiles. She has such an amazing way of putting together a room so that you feel like you are really in a dream. Our breakfast was laid out for us magnificently and there wasn't a single detail missing. We stayed for 2 nights and headed back to Boston, where we concluded the remainder of our vacation. We wished that we would have planned to stay in Maine a little longer, but we will plan better next time. We will definitely make A Little Dream our only place to stay any time that we visit Maine. We really just want to say THANK YOU to Joanne and her Husband for really giving us a life changing vacation. It is so wonderful to know that there are people out there that really care about making people feel special. Your hospitality and immaculate accommodations really allowed us to enjoy each other and our first trip to Maine.

Room Tip: Although we did not see any of the other rooms, it would be pretty safe to say that any accommodatio...

Details matter. Especially during vacation or honeymoon."A Little Dream" is about the details. Joanne & Bill are living this in perfection. We wanted to stay 2 nights and finally spent a week. A gourmet breakfast, a fantastic suite with a big terrace and a great view, a hospitality and an inspiration we just loved. Joanne shared every morning great tipps for the day:-)Our honeymoon will always be about Maine and "A Little Dream".

Wir kommen wieder,

M&R

“Absolutely delightful!”

My husband and I made a last minute reservation around Labor Day weekend and were SO happy we did. We stayed two nights, the first night in the Garden Patio room. We had breakfast on the patio outside our room, and was visited by the cutest little chipmunk (even though we knew we shouldn't encourage him, we shared our waffle with him... just couldn't help it). No one was staying in the adjoining room that evening so we were allowed to use both rooms, it was like having our own private suite. Lovely. The second night we opted to move rooms (we were given the choice of staying in the Garden Patio - if the incoming couple would agree to switch rooms - but we opted to try another room). We stayed in the Songbird Suite and it was just as lovely and well-appointed as the first room. Cozy, comfortable, nicely decorated, very nice. Breakfast in the morning was amazing - the first morning we had waffles with bananas and pecans, sausage links, and our plates were garnished with NINE different types of fruit (I counted), Attention to detail is the hallmark of A Little Dream. Joanne was a wonderful hostess, and very helpful with every request. Would definitely recommend!

Room Tip: As others mentioned, the rooms in front can be a little bit noisy from road traffic, but not unbeara...

“Our second visit was as fabulous as our first!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

We first stayed in A Little Dream in Sept. 2010 and had such a wonderful time we had to come back. The Islewatch suite is amazing – wonderfully comfortable king size bed with luxury linens, sitting area, fireplace, large bathroom with a soaking tub, and our absolute favorite place at A Little Dream, the Islewatch’s very large, private deck overlooking Penobscot Bay. We spend hours in the comfy wicker chairs, reading and just enjoying the lovely weather and lovely views.

Joanne and Bill are excellent hosts. Joanne has decorated the guest rooms to the smallest detail with guests comfort in mind: wine glasses, teacups, teas, chocolates, sherry, books, games, and information on Camden and the surrounding area. Joanne knows what to see, where to eat, and what to do in Camden. Just give her an idea of what you might like and she will have several great recommendations.

Bill’s three-course breakfasts are so creative and so yummy – fresh muffins every morning, a fruit course, then an entrée. During our three-day visit, our fruit courses were maple braised bananas with lime zest, crème anglaise with mixed berries in framboise and poached pears garnished with a perfect lemon geranium leaf. The entrees that followed included crepes filled with ricotta, bananas, strawberries and topped with Maine blueberries and served with applewood smoked bacon, spinach and feta frittata, and omelets. Entrees are beautifully plated with mixed fresh fruit: blueberries, blackberries, cantaloupe, mango, starfruit. We love A Little Dream and are dreaming of our next visit.

My wife and I were there for two nights over our 10 year marriage celebration. It was a wonderful place and time. We stayed in the garden room.It was very nice and the tub was great. Joanne and Bill were great hosts. Next time will stay in suites though they are jsut splendid. All was great with our trip. Reasonable priced compared to some fo some of the other inns. What a spot. My opinion is couples only not a spot for kids. Thanks Again J&B.
