This was my first stay at the International and I found it to be very accomodating, especially for our small dog. We stayed on the first floor conveniently located next to a spacious grassed lawn near the river - the dog had a great walk. We arrived around 8:30 p.m. and found a nice restaurant next door (still open) that provided a great meal. It wasn't a classy room but was clean and provided a bath/shower & a good night's rest. Price was ok too.

We stayed in the Riverview section of this hotel on the first floor. Very clean, well appointed room with a nice view of the river. There is a walkway along the river which is nice as well. Great value too! Freee Wi-fi was a plus for us. Host was very informative about area restaurants. Nice place to stay before you head over the Canadian Border which is 3 minutes away.

I have been to Calais before and knew that it was motel-challenged, but I was quite pleased with this place. We stayed in the new building called the Riverview Building that faces the St.Croix River, hence the name. The room was quite new, very clean, and just fine, though not very sound proofed from the adjoining rooms. Furnishing were pretty cheap but all worked. The view out the window was wonderful: a large grassy area, a walking trail, and then the river with a nice view across the Canada. We paid $80 and were perfectly happy. Make sure you ask for this building, as the older rooms all face acres of pavement and probably get some road noise.

The St.Croix National Historic Site down the road a few miles is definitely worth the visit, too.

We booked a room with a king bed in the Riverview section. It was great. Everything was clean, everything worked, bed was comfortable. The room was really big. Only weird thing was that the TV was tiny compared to the room size. It worked fine, just looked kinda strange. We had no problems and would stay here again if we're ever in the area.
