I paid for the room with a river view. The view is outstanding, only one problem. If you are on the first floor, you are also on display. There is a public walkway that runs right by the rooms. You can't leave the curtains open to enjoy the view, because people are always walking by and looking in your room. To be fair, any other floor should be okay,

The hotel itself is dated, but was very clean. The iron worked, but had broken pieces. Wifi has a very week signal, but worked okay.

I had a billing error when I checked it, the evening clerk was very nice but referred me to the Manager who works during the day. The manager, really didn't care about my issue and dismissed me without a second glance.

I won't be back, I prefer a hotel that cares about their customers.

Stayed here for just one night. It is an older hotel that is in need of some updating but it was very clean. The breakfast was bread, packaged pastries and some cereal. Very simple. The thing that made this place was the staff. We were greeted by a lovely lady at the front desk when we arrived after 9 pm. The next morning there were two pleasant ladies that were equally kind. This would be the place to stay if I ever pass through Bucksport again.

Friendly and helpful staff. Older hotel but very clean and comfortable. Beautiful view of bay and Fort Knox. Good food available in Bucksport. Reasonable travel distance for day trips to Bar Harbour or Acadia Park. Lovely boardwalk, quiet in town location.

Our family booked 3 rooms for one night here last weekend, and we had a great time. The hotel staff was wonderful, very helpful w/ offering menus/recommendations for area restaurants/points of interest, etc. The rooms are a bit out dated, w/o refrigerators or microwaves, which made it difficult traveling w/ a 17 mo. old, but the view made up for anything the room lacked. Fort Knox can be seen so clearly and accurately from our 3 rooms, that we felt spoiled! A wonderful sea breeze from the windows, and a nicely manicured lawn w/ walkway along the water added the perfect touches. We would stay here again. We wouldn't, however, eat across the street at the steak/seafood restaurant (I cannot remember the name, as it was not a memorable experience,) as our entire party of 10 ended up w/ a 24 hr stomache bug after eating there. The better choice for dining in Bucksport is Mings for chinese and Harbor View Grille for any of your 3 meals. Great deck seating, prices & helpful staff!
