(A belated review from July 2010...)
We were staying in Brunswick, visiting relatives, for a week, and chose the Days Inn with some trepidation -- however, the prices were decent and the location was ideal for us.
We arrived while being chased by tornados! We flew in to Portland airport and drove up in some wild weather. We made it to Brunswick, when the rain stopped for 10 minutes so we could dash in to Hannaford's supermarket, then drove up to the hotel. The rain started again, and this time it hammered down. I made it inside and checked us in; my wife was only able to get inside 20 minutes later when the rain let up a bit.
Our room was on the ground floor, looking out at the parking lot. It had a queen sized bed, small fridge, coffee maker, TV, small sofa, and desk. The room was quite dark (despite a large window) and gloomy. It looked reasonably clean, overall, and everything worked. The air conditioning would freeze you to death after 10 minutes, but that's pretty standard for parts of the US...
The hotel itself was very busy, mostly with families, and as such the hallways were pretty noisy most of the time. Everyone was friendly, though. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay, this probably isn't it.
We made use of the very small gym a few times (the AC was broken there, making it less than ideal to use). There was something resembling breakfast in the lobby in the morning, but it involved sugary cereals, "juice", "muffins" and an approximation of tea, so we passed.
The room was cleaned and tidied daily, which was good, and we found the staff friendly and generally helpful. We ended up having to leave a day early, and this was no problem at all.
So: it's nothing special, our stay ended up being adequate, and we got what we paid for. Next time we'd probably stay somewhere else, but didn't encounter anything to scare us off...
