While on a road trip through the NE, we stayed planned on staying in Boothbay for a day but thanks to this great Lodge we stayed a second. You literally feel like you are renting a room in someone's comfortable house. The rooms were a little on the small side, including the bathroom but nonetheless we still had a pleasurable stay. The family that owns the Lodge are just sweeties, my friend and I missed the free homemade breakfast but she went to the back to fix us some delicious tea and blueberry bread. They were also were helpful in helping us locate fun things to do while we were in Maine.

My husband and I went to Maine on our "babymoon," to enjoy a relaxing couples trip before our little one arrives in the spring. Boy am I glad we choose this place to spend 3 of our nights!

From the booking process to checkout, we were greeted with friendly service and a welcoming attitude. Not to mention the amazing breakfast! The couple who owns/runs this B&B is delightful and helpful, offering tips on the local area as well as pleasant conversation.

We enjoyed our room with the king sized bed and flat screen TV. More than that? I enjoyed the lovely view off our porch. Being there in October meant we got to enjoy cool, sunny weather and watch the leaves on the trees turn beautiful autumn colors. My favorite afternoon was spent on the porch, watching the chipmunks play and listening to the birds chirp.

Location wise, this place is great but know you'll probably want a car if you're planning to go into town. It's not as walkable as many of the inns/B&B's in the area, but we were looking for something a bit out of town. We spent one day shopping and eating in the harbor area, and another exploring other parts of the coast. This location was great for doing a variety of things in the area.

As I already mentioned, breakfast was fantastic! There was always a great egg-based dish alongside delicious fresh baked goods (my favorite was the bread - I had 2 slices each morning!). Everyone also got fresh cut fruit salad and yogurt to compliment the rest of the meal. They also offer cereal for the smaller eaters, but this pregnant lady was happy to enjoy everything else!

I highly recommend staying here while in the area - especially in the fall. They have a great location surrounded by lots of trees. We hope to come back one day; maybe with our little one in tow :)
