My wife and I have stayed at Captain Sawyers on more than one trip. This is not the fanciest B&B in the area so if you like fancy try the Admirals Quarters at double the price. For the money, you can's beat Captain Sawyers. The breakfast is always very good and the rooms are clean and tidy. The house was built in the 1880's by a sea captain named (you guessed it) Captain Sawyer. It is located in the heart of Boothbay Harbor in view of the water. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a reasonably priced B&B.

I spent three day last June at Captain Sawyers and Kim was a wonderful hostess! I love dogs and it was wonderful to have one to pet all the time! What a sweetheart! The breakfasts we great and there was a room we could play cards in or if it wasn't in use we could use the dining room. The flowers were amazing, Kim works hard at her gardening and it shows! Great place to stay!

Stayed for one night, looking for something with a bit more personality than the usual waterside inns and motels. And the promise of 'quality time' with the resident dog (a large Akita) was another inducement. As it happened, the dog was rather laid-back, and we didn't see to much of him. But we enjoyed our stay all the same. Not the standard of fit and finish of big commercial enterprises, but comfortable, affordable, and lovely breakfast. Would stay again.

We stayed for a couple of days early September in the Heritage room on the 1st floor. It was large, bright and clean with a view of the harbour. Large well equipped bathroom. There is a balcony on the 1st floor with table and chairs so ideal for reading or an evening drink. Kim is a very welcoming hostess. There are sufficient parking spaces which is important in Boothbay! Ideal location by the harbour - close to restaurants, boats and shops. Don't be put off by the large dog - he is gorgeous and very friendly.
