My husband and I recently visited Booth Bay Harbor, Maine and stayed at Sur La Mer Inn. We were greeted by Jay and given a tour of the inn and the grounds. Our room was on the second floor with a breathtaking view of the Harbor. So peaceful and tranquil. We enjoyed Jay’s tasty breakfast out on the back patio as we watched the boats passing by in the harbor. What a magnificent view. We also stopped in for drinks and appetizers at their restaurant, Amore Italian Bistro. It is downtown which is just a short distance from the inn. We enjoyed our drinks and appetizers on the terrace overlooking the harbor. What a great mini vacation. We enjoyed the hospitality of Jay, Shane, and Gene and would definitely recommend staying at the inn. Thanks for making our stay so memorable. Marc and Myriam

We loved our stay Sur La Mer Inn, our room was on the first floor with a great view of the harbor. We were greeted by Shane and given a tour of the inn. Shane made a delicious early breakfast for us every day as I was attending a workshop. Gene and Shane were very accommodating to all our needs. This is a great location close to downtown but away from the noise and traffic. The terrace is delightful with a wonderful view of the ocean. We would definitely stay her again and recommend it to friends.
We also ate at their restaurant Amore Bistro and the food was delicious.

It's hard to write this, because I don't want it to sound too overboard. But, we just finished our stay at Sur La Mer, and this Inn is the best!! Gene, Shane, and Jay were extremely gracious as hosts, and the room we had was perfect. It was great to awake to all of the birds, and then peacefully sit out on their large patio and watch all of the boats in the harbor while the sun was rising. I don't think there could be a better view in the entire harbor.

It's only a short couple minute walk from the Inn to the heart of Boothbay, so we never had to move our car once we arrived, which really helped us enjoy the entire town. Over the years, we've travelled to 43 of the states, and I can't remember when we've had a more pleasant experience.

I was traveling the Maine coast recently during the off season. I hadn’t been in Boothbay Harbor for many years. I saw a posting for Sur La Mer Inn noting their prime waterfront location. It was just as advertised. The view of the harbor and outlying islands was awesome. I felt as if on the deck of a ship from the large patio facing the sea.

The inn was clean and felt very cozy with the glow from the fireplace in the evening. The innkeepers were gracious and accommodating. They provided local knowledge of places to dine. These recommendations were right on target. I generally don’t write reviews of places where I have stayed but this place was an exception.
