This was our third time staying in Bethel and we wish we had known about Austin's Holidae House for our previous visits. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Laurence, the owner. What a kind and charming man. He showed us around as though we were truly guests in his home. Our room was very comfortable, warm, and cozy. We can't compliment Laurence enough on our breakfasts he prepared. Not only were they delicious, they included the very best homemade scones, homemade jam, and fresh local eggs. We even had homemade cookies for late afternoon tea! Our stay was for our anniversary, and staying at Austin's Holidae House really made it special.

I appeared unannounced at the door one recent evening and was welcomed without hesitation by a most charming Brit who turned out to be Lawrence, the proprietor. I was shown to a very pleasant and comfortable room, and, while lighting for shaving could have been a bit brighter, I enjoyed a most restful night's sleep. Breakfast the next morning couldn't have been nicer or more delicious, and I am extremely grateful to those chickens for their wonderful organic eggs. All in all, a lovely experience at a very fair price, and most heartily recommended if you're ever in the Bethel area and particularly if you want a change form the usual soulless condominium or run-of-the-mill B&B.

We have enjoyed Austin's Holidae House numerous times over the years for obvious reasons. It is the best place to stay when going to Sunday River. The rooms are wonderful and you cannot beat Laurence's breakfast. Hospitality is second to none. The town of Bethel is a wonderful alternative to staying at one of the slopeside hotels when skiing Sunday River.

My boyfriend and I came to Austin's Holidae House through their 'carpe diem' special, and it was wonderful to stay for the weekend. Lawrence was a kind and generous host- with a dry sense of humor as well as a delicious breakfast- and he offered great recommendations for local restaurants in Bethel. The rooms were very nice- Room 1 is simply beautiful- and the B&B was only a 10 minute drive to Sunday River. I would stay here again without hesitation.
