“Comfortable and cozy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 February 2011

Just got back from 2 nights stay, had a great time. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The room we stayed in was cozy and comfortable. The location is great for the ski area and is handy for 2 very nice restaurants, the Rooster and the English pub Jolly Drayman were both 2 minutes walking distance away, with excellent food, and a pub quiz for entertainment. Other nice features at the Rostay are the large selection of videos to watch, free of charge, and the lovely breakfast for only $8.

“Had potential for a quiet family. Not for us.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2011

We had a stay planned for 6 thirty somethings for the two room suite in the main building. 3 of our 6 bailed at the last minute. So we had a huge room for three people. I'm glad the other 3 didn't show up because we would have made a racket. The owners sleep in the front of the building and the walls are very thin. This is not a place for the party crowd.

The first night the heat went off and we were freezing. The thermostat was in the low 50s. The next morning we expected some sort of compensation for no heat, anything would have been nice. Maybe free breakfast (The $8 pancakes)...nothing.

Second issue, bugs. How the heck in the middle of the winter are there lady bugs and moths in a motel room? It's 2 degrees out. We killed no less than 5 bugs in our stay.

So, if you looking for a low-cost quiet place to crash after skiing. It will work.

Ruger the dog is real nice too.

“Our 3rd Season”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2011

We love Sunday River and come up everyother week during the ski season and have midweek passes. We have stayed elsewhere but The Inn at the Rostay is now our second home. Al and Kathy are just great, and love the passholders included breakfast each morning. The rooms are clean, comfortable beds, and like having the mirco/frig combo. Close to the slopes and town for that evening movie and dinner out. 5 stars for the Rostay.

“Definitely recommend Rostay”

We were with two kids under 10 for a ski trip to Sunday River. The owners are exceptionally nice and responsive. The rooms are clean, well maintained and beds very comfortable. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, comfortable, down home place - stay here.

“Great Place, Great Hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2010

The rooms were large and clean, very convenient location close to downtown Bethel, extremely quiet and peaceful at night, and very nice hosts. I would Recommend the Rostay to anyone in need of rest and relaxation in Bethel, Maine.
