Just doing a little retro-advising as it's -30 out, dark, cold and time for catch up on reviews.
Stayed at the Inn at the Rostay many, many times over about an 8 year period, and was always treated like one of the family. Be sure to ask about the name! No "Para ingles, presione numero dos" in this reservation "process". It usually consists of a quick phone call or, on a number of occasions, I'd leave a message and get a call back! And "duh", have your card ready...they have lives too. Or do what's right and offer to call back to keep their phone open for business.
When I travelled and arrived late there was always an accomodation for getting the key somewhere on my own and getting into a room. Even though the timestamp says I was there in 2011, the last time I stayed there was in the late fall of 2008, but I have full confidence that so long as the same folks are running it, there's nothing different now than then. Do yourself a favor and drop in, and make a friend or two while enjoying a trip back to the "Mom and Pop Hotel" era sans the all-too-common indifference, institutional coldness and money-first environment that permeates most chain hotels or resorts.
Room Tip: I was always partial to the rooms directly facing the road on the "single" level part of t...
