“Misinformation”

We booked a room based on web site's picture and availability. All look well until we arrived. We were told that our room was reassigned from a nice inn style room to the motel style room in the back. The room even came with an obstruction (i.e. post) in the middle of the room. Plastic lawn chair for furniture!? We were neve notified of the room change which would have been nice. The web site stated that "all rates include a warm coutry breakfast." This was not true as we were told after we arrived that it was not offered in off season. The room had an iron burn in the carpet neatly hidden under a throw rug.

Room Tip: Call in advance to confirm your room and ammenities.

“Bad Advertising”

This was not a B & B as advertised. We were put in "motel rooms" with plastic resin chairs after booking "inn rooms." We were told upon arrival that the "inn" was closed. Discoverd no breakfast to be served at 9:30 the night of our stay. The website states "county breakfast." Must mean another country!!! Must say the morning desk clerk took it upon herself to give us cash for breakfast in town.

Never again!!!!

“great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

It was my first experience with a B &B and it was perfect. Private rooms and baths just like a hotel which was great since that is something I was concerned about with the B & B concept. The room was very nice and the bathroom had been updated. Breakfast was very good in a lovely dining room and the owner was a very pleasant gentleman. The place is easy to find and had a lovely view of the ocean. I would stay there again with no hesitation.

“Sleep and eat for under $69 - Not worth the hassles”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

It was a dark night. And raining hard. There was plenty of room so we pulled in next to a guest parked at a sign reading FOR GUESTS ONLY. Next morning the manager told us we should not be parked there -- only one car allowed. I asked why the sign . . . was told NO PARKING signs looked bad. Missing was a sign pointing to plenty additional spots behind the building.
Our first (and last) morning we arrived outside an empty main dining room . . . only to be directed instead to an empty dining area attached to the main house. Breakfast was OK, but when I asked the manager why not the dining room the answer was, 'Oh, the girl just decided to put you there'. (It did provide a view of the bay -- about a mile's walk). When we were leaving he asked, 'Where else could you get a night's sleep and breakfast for $64.00?' (He didn't count the $4.48 tax). When back in that area I certainly will try.
On a positive note, we dined at their attached restaurant -- very nice.

Room Tip: Be careful where you park. Request seating in the dining room. Rooms on the back of the building get...

“Promised more than it delivered”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

Reading some of the other reviews the biggest issue seemed to be quite inflexible. Admittedly we had not read some of the fine print i.e. check-in time. But the window of three hours seems quite limited as we like to stop off at places on the way to our chosn desitnation and not feel like we have to rush to get there. I did phone ahead to provide an ETA but was told that the paperwork stated what time we had to be there. After a few minutes he admitted he was winding me up - not funny at the time, still not certain it was just a joke. When we arrived the guy also gave the impression that people generally were putting him out, especially if they did not turn up when he specified. This inflexibility also spilled over to the designated breakfast slot of 8-9. Not a problem, and in fairness breakfast was pretty good, but when you are on holiday you don't want to be told when you can do things because of narrow windows of opportunity.

The rooms were extremely generous in their space and had everything that was needed (by us). But as whole the place was quite deceptive. Whilst it looked quite nice from the outside, it is not really by the bay/beach, but you get a decent view from afar. Whilst the place is easily accessible as it it right on the "1" it is a fair drive in to Belfast so not conveniently located for the town. Maybe some generous marketing has gone in to the place.

Whilst I cannot quibble about the value for money, the attitude "thing" is something that needs addressing whether the owner perceives as a joke or not.
